A decent hotel, room size ok, perhaps bathroom could be a little bigger, it was a little cramped - basin very small. Front desk guy Tjeerd was extremely helpful and certainly knowledgeable about the area, He an asset to the hotel. A plus was the Nespresso coffee machine - very nice indeed. We'd stay here again.

Good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Small but clean rooms with a modern and also clean shower. The interior of this places is of a much better standard than you would expect from a view outside. For guests who come without their own car: Nearby bus stop of the line 37 ! You can go to the beach of Katwijk without any stress about parking or worrying about drinking a glass of beer.

Room tip: Rooms with a window to the back side are more favourable than to the street. But the latter are ok, too

If you need a (budget) hotel near Leiden, this is your choice.
The hotel is right off motorway A44, and near the RoyalFloraHolland is in walking distance.

I have stayed there several times now, and all my experiences were Good.
Reservation via the website is the most efficient way (and cheaper than phone or walk-in).

Reception is always friendly, although sometimes under-staffed (a common Bastion problem: generally very few staff on site). The rooms are Good, Bastion Quality. Wifi is generally good.
Food: You can order from the standard “Bastion menu”. I can recommend the Sate-frietes for a meal, or the wings for snack.

Rooms are good. Standard Bastion. Mostly 2-single beds per room.
Parking is still free (sometimes a bit busy), and the parking seems safe enough to leave a motorcycle with cctv and automatic lights.
Breakfast is not cheap but is OK-value, and if you want cheaper: there is a MacD on the next motorway-exit.

All in all a recommended hotel.

Room tip: ask for room away from road.

Good services, staff are very helpful and friendly. The room is simple with basics all need in travels. Even the lighting in the room is not bright enough for reading or doing works, it is OK for other purposes,. Decent breakfast, with choices of bread, cheese, and teas. The only thing I want to see it change is the room should have provide water boiler instead of capsule coffee machine, that will be more environmental friendly and convenient.

The hotel is very near motorway and you can hear the traffic all night and it gets worse during daytime rush hour. The stairway to first floor was dirty (no lifts) and the room carpets were dirty. Nominally, breakfast is up to 10:30am but at 09:00 they were clearing up the breakfast area and did not have bread any longer! I have not understood how people have given good reviews of this place! IBIS and Travelodge in UK) are much better so this is a hotel to avoid unless you prefer dirty rooms!

Room tip: If you must stay at this place then ask rooms at the back and not facing main road and motorway!
