Estrella and Coral are sister buildings across the small street from each other. Coral is the smaller of the 2. Estrella has the spa, sauna and indoor pool. Both have outdoor pools.
Food and service is great. Very clean buildings.

I have stayed at the Estrella two years in a row as part of a spring cycling vacation on Mallorca. Note that I was at the Estrella...not the sister Coral hotel which is across the street that people seem to think is more upscale. The hotel and spa staff are just exceptional. They speak multiple languages fluently and have gone out of their way to help us on many occasions. The spa has special rates on massages for cyclists which are well worth it. A few notes:

1. Several others have commented that the decor is kind of tired. True. But the staff keeps it all in great working order. For a cycling vacation I want clean, comfortable, and convenient. The Estrella delivers on all three.
2. The rooms have a nice layout with a common area, kitchenette, and separate bedroom. The mattresses are nice and firm. I think most, if not all, the rooms have twin beds that are pushed together to make a queen bed. Worked fine for us.
3. There is one channel on the TV that has English language BBC...all of the other channels are German or Spanish. Not a problem for us. We were only in the rooms for sleeping!
4. Much has been written of "the bird" at the hotel next door. We call it "el Diabolo". It is true that this bird can make a lot of noise. But we prefer that to the noise from the pool area. We did hear recycling and trash pick up every night around 9 or 10 pm. But it didn't last long.
5. The hotel has a wonderful area in the basement for bike storage and also some shared bike tools. There is a bike store in the hotel.
6. The hotel is perfectly located for rides out of Alcudia.
7. The food is served cafeteria style. There are multiple stations with a wide range of options. There has never been a meal that I wasn't able to find multiple dishes that I liked. It may not be 5 star dining, but it is pretty tasty. The restaurant staff is efficient and friendly.
8. This is a very family oriented hotel with lots of entertainment options for younger kids.
9. There is a beautiful outdoor pool that I didn't take advantage of but I did use both the spa facilities (ice bath, hot tub, sauna, steam room) and the gym almost every day.

If you are in your 20's and looking for a "hip" place to stay...this hotel may not be for you. But for a family or for cyclists looking for a great base for tremendous cycling, it is idea. I really look forward to coming back again next year!

We did our travel out of season at February, but this didn't really bother us. We did have organized program for kids and adults, good food, drinks, sauna, pools, car and bikes in use, and even if we didn't spend a lot of time at beach it was nicely close. Personnel was friendly and competent, and even if I think that inside pools are bit small they were completely ok -- fine for all of us, 3 generations, total 6 persons aged from 1 year to 80 years.

Room Tip: Evening program is up to 22, so after this it's at least out of season completely ok.

We have been coming every spring for over a decade. The staff are exceptional. They can make or break your stay and they always make our stay. The common areas are very good. The rooms, although not opulent are large and spacious. Must agree the beds and pillows are on the firm side. The spa is excellent.

We plan to return again.

Just got back from a 10 day stay at Estrella Coral de Mar with my girlfriend and our 15 month old son. Contacted the reception in advance if it was possible to get a room in the Coral part of the hotel, which they arranged.
We had a room on the second floor overlooking the pool area. The rooms are big enough, well equipped and clean. The beds are ok for 10 days, the pillows could be a little softer.

We stayed on room only base, so no idea how the food is.

The pool area is small, but enough for the number of guests. I can imagine that in high season there's not enough room to accomodate everybody. But you can always go across the road to the bigger Estrella pool, where there's also an indoor pool.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Within a 5 minute walk you're in the center of Alcudia and at the beach, 10 minutes from an Eroski supermarket and 15-20 minutes from the "old" Alcudia.

Just 2 cons:
1)The pools are really cold (not heated), to cold for a 15 month old. Even the indoor pool is cold.
2) There's is no high-chair in the room, but you can rent one. This costs €20 (!!!) for a week. In my opinion this is way to much for an high-chair which costs €10 at Ikea.

I would recommend this hotel to everybody, but only for the Coral part as the Estrella part is more outdated.

Room Tip: In the Coral part, facing the pool. We had room B208 on the upper floor.
