We have been to Alcudia 4 times and to this hotel 3 times with children under the age of ten.
The location is excellent just a few minutes from one of the best parts of one of the best beaches in the Med and also convenient to get into the port and old town (more a bus or taxi ride than a walk but we walked it once and it was a pleasant stroll).
The rooms are pretty basic and relatively small but there is so much going on in the hotel and the beach is so nice that you don't want to be stuck in your room anyway.
The food was decent. Plenty of choice including for kids. The pool is nice and large. We tended to head to the beach in the morning then head back to the pool later in the afternoon and always found space.
Evening entertainment was surprisingly good with some decent tribute bands.
A great family holiday.

The hotel me and my wife stayed in during our holiday in Majorca in May 2017 was recommended to us by Thomson Travel Agency (I believe they're now called TUI). I'm writing this review with a 'bit' of a delay due to a very busy life I have which only proves how much of a lasting impression the Hotel Delfin Azul made on me.

We arrived at the hotel late at night due to a delay at the airport. The hotel staff/Thomson dispatched a taxi driver to collect us and another married couple directly from the airport as it was too late for a bus. The hotel crew greeted us kindly and showed us to our room.

I'll start with the good thigs:

1) Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They provided us with everything we needed, gave us directions, recommended local attractions, catered for all of our needs. We forgot to take our UK to EU power adapter plugs and they were able to lend us 2 adapters the same night we came which was a great relief as otherwise we wouldn't have been able to charge our phones. Throughout the whole stay the staff, starting from very eager and pleasant reception ladies and gentlemen, room service and kitchen/restaurant staff were very helpful and willing to assist at any time. This is a hallmark of a great hotel - excellent customer service. Everyone was working hard to make us feel at home and exceed all of our expectations.

2) Food - it was great! Before coming to the hotel me and my wife were a bit apprehensive as both pf us are vegans and we were prepared not to have many food choicea avialable as vegans are generally a bit harder to please (no meat, no dairy, no eggs or any other animal derived produce). To our surprise, the place was frieldly to people with all sorts of dietary requirements - yes vegeterians & vegans too! There was a great selection of fruits and vegetables, different varieties of dairy free milks, salads, etc. The meals were purely delicious! I think aftee our stay me and my wife put on weight a bit The waiters were ever so helpful in checking whether given meals contained dairy or eggs. For those who do not follow vegan diet, the choice was even greater. Some people complained in their reviews about desserts. Nothing could be further from the truth! There was a great deal of desserts available every day, chocolate puddings, icecream, cakes, great selection of fresh local fruits, etc.

3) Room & general hotel standard. The hotel had been upgraded to a 4 star standard shortly before we came.

I'd say it should be a 5 star hotel!!! Our rooms were spotless clean, beds were changed eveey day and fresh towels supplied to our rooms after we came back from our daily excursions. Aircon worked fine. The rooms had a big a waredrobe to put our clothes and luggages in. No issues with running water. All lifts were working ok.

There was a safe in our room to keep our passports, money and travel documents safely. You had to pay for this service though. Can't remember exactly but I think it was something around €20.00 or €30.00 for a week and €10.00 deposit in respect of the key was returned back to us on our departure.

Swimming pool - it was very clean. Lots of beds available for those who chose to tan or rest around the pool.

Entertainment programme - can't comment on that as we didn't get involved in any such activities but I recall there were some performances ans live music played as per hotel announcements.

Overall - we were very satisfied with the overall hotel standard.

4) Closeness and ease of access to major means of transport and main facilities. He hotel is just a stone's throw from the bus stop, about 5 min walk from the splendid Alcudia beach with beautiful views and 25-30 min walk to the town centre (highly recommended for its historical value - walled medieval city with plenty of monuments to explore and ancient Roman ruins nearby). There are bars and restaurants nearby and even a friendly British pub 1-2 min from the hotel on the main road. Only went there once for a pint to watch a football match - the staff were very friendly)

I shouldn't forget to say - for fans of water sports, on the Alcudia beach 5 min from Hotel Delfin Azul there is a guy called Alejandro. He offers a whole range of water sports, i.e. water skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, diving, etc. I went for parasailig and it was certainly worth every penny! Exhiliarating experience.

5) Tours and trips. We did plenty during our stay. The hotel or your agent (in this case Thomson) organised most of them. We went for a bus tour along the coast, through local small villages, mountains and places of historical interest. We went to Porto Cristo, a little port town with a lovely beach and harbour packed with boats, Drach Caves - huge underground cave complex with impressive array of stalactites & stalagmites (highly recommended - with beautiful classicak music concert inside the cave at the end of the tour), wooden railway trip through the mountains (real attraction), visit to Palma (capital city - this was purely delightful, winderful place filled with culture, museums, old town, medieval buildings and castles), Cap Formentor - fantastic looking coastline with rocky cliffs and windy roads and a paradise sandy beach at the end of the tour. We also went to explore the ild town - I'd recommend the wall which you can climn and get a splenid view of the city from the top of the battlements, a mix Spanish & Arabic cultures.

We also did a boat trip (Sunrise with Dolphins) which was recommended by our hotel and organised by local tour guides. I'd also say these were great - can't remember the names of these 2 Majorcan guys but they were very knowledgable and had great sense of humour (hired byThompson).

NEGATIVES (there are none - except.we wished we could have stayed longer)

Overall, me and my wife had an excellent time in Hotel Delfin Azul. I would recommend it to anyone! Great comfort, superb standards and above all 5 star customer service!!! Would definitely come back again if I was visiting Majorca.

Room Tip: Hotel is conveniently located just 20 min away from the town centre and 5 min away from the beach.

Just stayed for 7 days, it was absolutely brilliant! Lovely staff, clean hotel, great facilities, food very good, great outdoor pool, and only a few minutes walk to the stunning beach. We had a pool view and experienced some amazing sunrises each morning, temperature was 25'c too in late October.
