“Fabulous Views!”
Reviewed 21 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The villa was very clean and immaculately kept and is in a fantastic location with spectacular views.

As mentioned by previous visitor’s the beds are firm, with orthopaedic mattresses, but they are deep and we added a blanket under the base sheet for a little extra comfort.
The kitchen is well equipped and the condiments in the cupboard came in very handy.

We would recommend the villa for couples or families with older children, but not youngsters as the pool is deep with no shallow end (1.75 & 2.10 meters) and it is unsecured.
The Spanish owner, although he speaks no English is friendly and came by once and tended the well-stocked garden below, where he kindly gave us some freshly picked avocados, which tasted unlike any bought back home!

There are a number of grocery stores in the town and a well-stocked supermarket, including fresh bread near Fandango's bar on Calle Rosario la Joaquin.
There is a bus service to nearby Nerja from the main square in the village costing just 1 euro per person each way.
The walk back from the town is steep in places and tough in the heat but this wouldn’t stop us from staying at this delightful villa again, although I think we would consider hiring a car, if only for bringing in the daily essentials including water as the mains water is not safe for drinking.

Thank you for your kind review of Villa Arabe and indeed for your tips about the local village of Frigiliana. We do appreciate you taking the time to tell us (and others) about your stay at the villa and about the area in general. This is so helpful for future visitors. We hope to welcome you back to Villa Arabe in Frigiliana again in the future.
And yes, we definitely agree it is worth hiring a car, not only for the shopping, but also to get you to and from the airport, and to give you the freedom to explore the surrounding area.

“Magnificent Views”

Lovely house in the hills above Frigiliana. 10 minute walk down to the village, 25 minute walk back up - and you need to be quite fit. The house and pool areas are all spotless and very well maintained, with all mod cons except an oven. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, pans could do with renewal as quite worn. The views are amazing, some nice walks around the area. Some nice bars and a few nice restaurants within walking distance. The windows all have fly screens and bars fitted which I thought was a very good idea, as you could then leave the windows open for air. Comfy lounge and bedrooms. Outside there are 4 sunloungers and a couple of outside eating areas. Quite peaceful location except for distant barking dogs - same as the rest of Spain. Could have done with aircon, but it is not switched on until July. Satellite TV with a couple of English news channels. A few English books and games in the cupbards. The one downside was the narrow drive up to the villa from the main road - about 1k, not very wide, very high, no barrier and not for the faint hearted. My husband tells me there was nothing to worry about, it's a matter of opinion I guess, so I just closed my eyes whenever we went down or up in the car (He was driving of course) It was worth it once we got to the Villa, the views from there are quite spectacular. Nearest supermarket is a Lidl on the main road towards Nerja, nothing within walking distance except a couple of small convenience stores in Frigiliana, which is useful if you just need some basics quickly. Free Wifi in the bar at the main town square.

Liked best: The amazing views and the sunshine and pool
Liked least: Owner turned up twice unexpectedly to clean and maintain garden and pool, but did give us lovely strawberries.

Thank you so much for your comprehensive review of Villa Arabe. We do appreciate all comments (good and bad!) and it is lovely to hear when you have had such a good holiday. We will pass all your comments on to the owner who I am absolutely sure will be changing the pots and pans straight away. Both he and his wife are extremely proud of their villa and take all comments very seriously.
Thank you again for your helpful comments and we hope to welcome you to one of our villas again in the future.

“Great villa, spectacular setting, will be back!!”

Arrived at Casa Arabe to find a spotlessly clean property with probably the best welcome pack we've ever had.

The villa had everything we could possibly want from a holiday rental property, and had lovely areas to sit out and enjoy the sunshine and the views, along with a lovely swimming pool. The setting is magnificent with superb views right out across Frigiliana and Nerja out to the sea. 10 minute walk to Frigiliana village and all it's amentities, although a somewhat tougher 15 walk back!

The villa garden was a revelation too, with melons, avocados, limes, grapes, mandarin and plantain all being grown; it was a pleasant surprise when the owner visited and supplied us with a basket of home grown produce from the garden, all of which was beautiful.

Aspects of Spain, the booking agents, were also very easy to deal with.

Will we go back - definitely!!!
