Friendly staff and a lovely place. It is popular and the venue is not large. Waited around 25 mins for seating but it was worth it. The fried pickles were good. Sandwiches were grilled perfectly. We sat at the bar and I could watch the grill cook work. He is very good at his craft. The bartender was super sweet and caring. I had the Don Quixote, very good with the grilled onions flavor. My friend had the one with bacon and apple chunks. If I go back, I want to try that one.

My husband and I came here for lunch and absolutely loved everything! We shared the Don Quixote grilled cheese which won best grilled cheese in Virgina. So we obviously had to get it. We added turkey to get more protein in. We also got their French fries with Parmesan and chimichuri. The fries were cooked to perfection; crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The place is cozy so if you are a group of 3 or more, you may have to wait a bit to get seated. So if you want some cheesy goodness, I highly recommend this establishment.

Bread, cheese, heat. You only think you’ve seen these things put together until you’ve been here.

Looking for a good place to celebrate a special occasion with friends, we’d heard about this tasty spot and decided to give it a go. We quickly realized we’d made one serious error – visiting just after it had been featured on tv. Even arriving when they opened, we had to wait 40 minutes for a seat. Still, worth it!

We split a Rabbi (Pastrami & Swiss) and a Don Quixote (their award-winning vegetarian pick of onion, mushroom, red pepper and olive tapenade smothered in fontina and parm). Both were incredibly good, the Rabbi meaty and dripping with beery onions and the Don Quixote oozing cheese while still feeling light from all the veggies. Our friends got a Meathead and El Cubano; both arrived piled high with meaty goodness and both were enjoyed thoroughly. It’s hard to pick a favorite when everything’s delicious!

Though the sandwiches are what get you in the door, the rest of the menu is waiting to grab your taste buds as well. Their regular fries are fine and good. The chimichurri-and-parmesan fries, of which you get a giant mound for a very reasonable $5, are heavenly, delicious, and addictive. We thought they’d accompany our sandwiches nicely, but they didn’t last long enough for the sandwiches to make it to our table. (We seriously considered ordering a second mound, but decided to save room and possibly our lives by refraining.) We also found their take on the Arnold Palmer (hibiscus tea syrup mixed in lemonade with blueberries) to be excellent. Though we didn’t order anything alcoholic, their bar area looked very well-appointed to meet any thirst.

Seating is definitely a challenge in the restaurant’s small space, especially with their growing fame, but the staff are good at managing the crowd, taking orders fast and bringing everything out quick. Come prepared to wait at least a little while and your taste buds will thank you. If you love cheese (that is to say, you’re a person) and are in the area, definitely make time to stop by.
