The town is full of homes called trulli , they are stone homes that have roofs shaped like a cone, they actually look like hobbit homes.people are very friendly and they have huge figs that they sell,if you like figs it's a must try.other than walk the town and shop there is not much else to do but it is a beautiful town that should be visited.

Thank greatprovider

Great Unesco heritage. Just walk into the streets and experience this unique place. Visit also the little trulli church.

After visiting Matera (still my personal favorite) headed to Alberobello. What a wonderful place to visit. UNESCO site, it’s trulli worth a visit. You can park your car nearby the old trulli area ( if you arrive around 10am latest you will still find places) . Head to the Tourist info point, get advices and a map and spend your day in this lovely location. Than have a lovely dinner in one of the restaurants inside trulli. Such a lovely, relaxing and enchanting place. Even if is a more touristy place still charming and also unique!

We just happened to visit Alberobello during a festival on Sunday. There were many things going on, shops were open in the market area, and while having an early dinner a jazz band came by and entertained us It was a delight. The band, while playing song, waled into the restaurant with the patrons while still playing. It was a great idea and we all loved the attention and music. What a fun experience with all those lovely trullo houses and shops.

Usually I tey to avoid crowded tourist places, but this is totally worth it. Surrounded by unique constructions, seems like a fairy tale. Explore every small street, including those out of the main ones. If you're staying overnight try to book in advance a trulli house. There are many around, it will make you experience the town a little closer. Many restaurants are close on Monday's.
