“Excellent Apartment”

We stayed for a week in August (family of 4, kids 6 & 4 yrs). The apartment exceeded our expectations. It was large and beautifully decorated. It had a balcony overlooking the pool and good wifi access. There is a communal laundry room which is very handy. Also a small gym and pool. The location is very central and generally quiet - though we did hear bars/music until 1am on the Saturday night. There is a private parking space for each apartment - essential in peak season. We found it difficult to find from the rather vague directions provided by the agents. Overall a great apartment in a great location.

very nice appt on the top floor .. fantastic views ... nice pool to wind down after a day of visiting this lovely region....appt was in the center of the village which has plenty of restaurants to choose from we went to a different one most nights which saves on the driving and enables you to enjoy a glass of wine or two...only fault was lack of A/C but not a big problem we did have a couple of storms at night so weather got muggy but still slept well in comfy beds.

“Wonderful Family Stay In Provence”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We recently had a week for our family of four in the beautiful village of Bonnieux staying at The Old Gendarmerie, we couldn't have asked for more.
The apartment was great, a good size for us, wonderful views across the valley to Lacoste, easy to access, close to the shops, restaurants, nice walks around the village and best of all , it had a pool for the afternoon swim in the nice hot Provincial weather.
Bonnieux was a good base for visiting the sights of the Luberon area, vineyards and other villages, staying in apartments like this that really make the holiday a pleasant experience.

“Superb little perched village easily accessible to all Provence.”

Comfortable stay in a clean, well-appointed apartment in centre-ville of Bonnieux. Kitchen had everything necessary for in-apartment cooking and dining. Good interned access. Comfortable beds. Lovely views from each room. Would gladly return for another stay.

“Lovely accommodation set in a stunning landscape”

The village of Bonnieux, less than an hours drive from Avignon TGV, was everything we had hoped it would be. We arrived in the village with no problems, although finding the apartment was not quite as easy as the sat nav did not recognise the address. A friendly villager pointed us in the right direction and we arrived.( Tip. The Old Gendarmerie is virtually opposite the pharmacie ). The apartment, on the top floor, was spacious and clean and the views fantastic although the five flights of stairs would not be for everyone. The village itself has all the amenities you would need including two boulangerie/ pattiseries, a small supermarket, and several restaurants serving everything from excellent pizzas to fine French cuisine. There are also several galleries, boutiques, and at least one antique shop. On the main road in and out from the D900 ( the D3 i think) there is a wonderful ceramic studio run by a incredibly friendly couple of anglophiles, well worth a visit ! On the same road a little further out of town is the local wine co-op again something of a must.
All in all a great break in a wonderful area with Lacoste, Rousillon, Gordes and many other beautiful villages all within a short drive of the property.
