The breakfast each day was wonderful! Three courses! Not to mention the mulled wine and chocolate chip cookies out for the taking all weekend!

While staying at the "Mark Addy" B&B, each morning was an adventure, wondering what the owners (Rafael and Leslie) would whip up in the kitchen! Breakfast back home at my local diner are boring, and nothing to write home to mom about!

The cook is definitely gourmet. The choices of entries was good, but not overwhelming. Desert and coffee are a must after the main course.

Just arrived home from spending two very relaxing and pleasant nights at the Mark Addy. Over the last few years we have stayed at a variety of B&B's in and around the wine country of VA. Without a doubt one of the most memorable will always be our stay at the Mark Addy. Leslie and Rafi, the inn keepers, are delightfully dedicated to making your stay at their establishment a very rewarding experience. From the minute we arrived we were warmly greeted and given gracious and attentive consideration. The home is lovely, filled with all sorts of interesting antiques and the gardens are just lush herbs and every kind of wild flower you could imagine. The roses in the front garden are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen...
We stayed in the Elena Room...spacious and full of sunlight. The view of the mountains from our windows was breathtaking.
Rafi is the chef par excellence. Our breakfasts were not just substantial but artfully created and presented. The homemade baked goods are just delicious. The broiled grapefruit halves topped with cinnamon and coconut were amazing. The guest kitchen provided us cold beverages, homemade treats or coffee or tea whenever the need arose.
Unlike other B&B's where we have stayed, The Mark Addy does have a dinner menu for an additional cost. We were able to take advantage of that culinary experience when two other couples were also going to be having dinner that evening. From the appetizer offerings to the desserts everything was prepared with great skill and attention to detail. The food rivaled some of the priciest gourmet restaurants; the wine pairings were perfect; the personal service was flawless.
Undoubtedly the best part of our stay was getting to know Leslie and Rafi. In every way we felt as if we were old friends.
The "front porch" evening chats with them and the other guests were engaging and animated.
You cannot go wrong having a stay at the Mark Addy...it was a lovely experience, with lovely people.

The innkeepers were welcoming and friendly. The location was lovely - it was so peaceful and with very little light you could see a skyful of beautiful stars! The breakfasts were delicious, and the cookies they provided I the kitchenette were tasty! Our room was lovely and large - worth the upgrade. It was about 20ish minutes to Charlottesville and there is so much to see and do in the area - UVa, Monticello, wineries, and more. We had a lovely two days at the B&B and would return.
