We have stayed at Seatoller House many times and absolutely love the place. Nigel & Trish are super hosts and make everyone feel at home. And with Trish's fabulous cooking, I defy anyone to leave without putting on weight! It is ideally placed for fell walkers since it is right in the heart of the mountains - but you don't have to be a walker to stay here since all-comers are welcome. We cannot recommend it too highly.

Room Tip: Some are en-suite but in any event each has a dedicated bathroom, some eg across a corridor

Hubby and I have been coming here for 27 years now for our annual Mayday Revellers long weekend. Perfect location and you can walk from the house to a massive variety and number of walks in Beautiful Borrowdale valley and surrounding mountains. There is a bus outside the house which takes you either to Keswick or over Honnister Pass to Buttermere, so even more walks! The area is unparalleled for glorious walking. Seatoller house is a beautiful old farmhouse, comfy spacious bedrooms, en suite or private bathrooms. We always have Rabbit (all bedrooms named after woodland creatures!) which has a double and a single bed in it and is on the ground floor with no steps! Bathrooms are newly refurbished and superb, ad are bedrooms. There is a room where you can sit at a big pine table, where Trish's scrummy homemade cake awaits you on return from walks, and endless supplies of up help yourself to ( free) tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Also all drinks and the cake, just note down in the book what you've had. Food is excellent, all homemade, Trish is a terrific cook. Huge yummy breakfasts with everything you'd want, cereals, fruit, juices, all cooked things, toast etc. Dinners are four course then coffee and homemade choccie S in the spacious and very comfy sitting rooms...we gather here for ore dinner drinks if required, and after to talk about plans for the next day. Roaring fire if it's cold adds to the cosiness! Boot room to dry wet clothes and boots. Perfect place to stay, love coming back, good Wifi, pretty large garden to relax in, just heaven!

Beautiful house which has been a guest house for over 100 years. House is full of quaint features and relics from the past. Very interesting place indeed.

Were made very welcome and shown to a lovely split level bedroom with a bath no less. We'd arrived late and went down shortly after to a communal dinner with the other 12 or so guests. The atmosphere was very sociable and it appeared all the other guests had been coming for many years. After eating a superb 3 course meal with wine, cheese, coffee and chocolates I could see why. Could not really fault anything with great food and drink and coffee was taken in a very old and comfortable lounge.

Breakfast was excellent also and I can only congratulate the hosts on the standards they have achieved. Amazing and 100% recommended, this place is a true gem.

Seatoller House is a wonderful place to stay with a warm welcome from Nigel and Trish and delicious food. The atmosphere is very friendly. It is in a beautiful part of the Lake District in Borrowdale and the walking is fantastic. It is one of our favourite places ever to stay.

This was our first visit to the Lake District. Nigel, Trish, and their staff did an outstanding job in making us feel welcome and cared for. The location is excellent for the numerous hikes around the Borrowdale area. Keswick is a 15 minute drive.

What really struck us was the number of return guests. During our stay we met six couples each of whom have been returning to Seatoller House annually for than 10+ years. Two of these couples had coordinated their timing, while the others had not.

The optional dinners were excellent and provided a great time to socialize and share more about walks and other things to do in the area, which was very valuable to us.

Overall, the stay easily exceeded our expectations.
