“Very Nice Mountain Foothills Vacation Rental”

Woodstone Meadows is at the bottom of Massanutten Mountain near one of the golf courses, with views of the mountain and peak. We found the location ideal, because it was a short trip up the mountain to participate in activities, see the sunset, take the chair lift and hike. It was also a short distance to restaurants and activities that were not on the mountain in McGaheysville and Harrisonburg. The condo was very, very clean -- and we are picky! We wished there had been at least two pillows per person, but we didn't ask for more. We just went to the WalMart in Harrisonburg and bought some, which we gave my son afterward. When checking out, renters are asked to strip the bed, leaving the blanket and bedspread on the bed and putting sheets and pillowcases on the floor by the door. That led me to wonder when the blanket was washed last, and since it actually touches you when you sleep, I bought another blanket as well. With MRSA and other infections running rampant, I think the blanket should be washed every time. Other than that, the condo was perfect. We loved the activities, and especially the murder mystery dinner. Everything is an extra charge, and there seems to be a very long waiting time after ordering breakfast at the fast food breakfast area in the registration building. We waited a half hour for a breakfast burrito and a country ham muffin, and the place wasn't crowded. Fareways was a very nice restaurant. The ski lodge is in desperate need of an update, but all in all the week was fantastic. When we arrived we were given a list of activities which reminded us of being on a cruise ship, except that you pay to participate in each activity. Crafts, sports activities, go-karts, kids programs, tours, entertainment including karaoke, etc. The waterpark is a lot of fun, especially for kids. The spa is wonderful -- for sore muscles, get the arnica massage. Adults who don't want to participate can watch from the bar/restaurant inside. Woodstone Meadows is rustic and clean, with a stone fireplace and lots of space inside. There are steps up to some of the buildings before you reach the elevators, so if there are mobility issues you might want to make a special request.

“Very nice resort.”

First off check in was extremely fast which we found very pleasant. When we went and checked in to our unit, It was easily found. The room was a little dated but it seemed well kept and very clean. My only complaint about the room was getting rid of the comforters. We always Inspect our bed before we get into them. Where the comforter was laying on the blanket when It was pulled back we found four long black hairs. The rest of the bed including the sheets were spotless I'm sure this is because comforters are not washed every time and they get thrown on the floor in between new tenants. they were popular in 1982 but not now get rid of them. Like I said other than this the room was absolutely spotless including the bathrooms. the resort itself seems pretty well kept. they had lots of amenities that we used including putt putt, go karts, a fishing pond, and a bungee trampoline thing that the kids liked. We drove up to the top and did the difficult hike it was relatively easy and it had very nice views. we are members of Holiday Inn vacations and booked this for a week though RCI. We ended up only staying 3 nights as we started running out of some things to do. I have a feeling in in summer or winter this would never happen but being in April it limited us to some things that we could do. My wife also did the zip line which she truly enjoyed and my kids did the spring tubing hill which they enjoyed. One thing we loved was in the evening we drove around and the one night we counted 72 deer out eating over by the golf course. Overall we were very happy with the resort I would rate it is a nice place overall to stay. The one thing is everything you do there cost money we ended up spending a few hundred dollars letting the kids fish go kart ride and putt putt and other miscellaneous little things

We visited Massanutten resort as during our kid's spring break and stayed in the condos. We had a great time. The unit was clean and there was plenty of things to do - go-karting, zip-lining, skiing, snow tubing and the water park. This is a nice place to visit and the staff were friendly. We did not eat on the property, but Harrisonburg was just 8 miles away and there are plenty of dining options.

“Love this resort!”

This is my second time staying at the Woodstone section at the Massanutten resort. This particular stay was just by myself as I needed some R&R. The condo was beautifully updated and very clean. I loved the fireplace and the wifi works really well here which is good (not typical). The grounds are maintained nicely and the support staff are always friendly. The only thing I find annoying is the pressure to attend their timeshare seminar: I particularly dislike the phone call to my unit the next morning. Sigh. All in all though, I always love coming here and if you enjoy skiing or winter sports, this is the place for yiu!

“Nice Place with TRASH and Few Employees”

Masanutten is a world class resort that has lots going for it but management seems to be working at a higher level than their capabilities. Employees at such areas as the ice cream stand in the middle of several family attractions work ten hour shifts alone and close the stand in the middle of the afternoon for their "lunch."
That was a minor annoyance. The biggest problem was the trash. Woodstone at Masanutten is an RCI Gold Crown property but not in my book. The trash for the 20 or so units around the two occupied by my family was constantly overflowing the allotted receptacles. Calls to the front office were often forwarded to unanswered maintenance phones or "It's very busy this week" excuse was used. Not acceptable to find a pile of trash ten feet from your door that has been scattered around by raccoons.
