Stayed at Lansdowne Resort for a few nights and this place is basically the main casual dinner joint. Service is 5 star. Between Nadia and Austin they were superb. Both were very attentive and helpful.

Now with that said, the food is average. Nothing special. Not bad but not what you would expect from a resort. And given that dining places on site are slim to none you would think that their offerings would be top notch.

If in Leesburg, I strongly suggest visiting Coton and Rye in the Lansdowne Resort. The menu is excellently prepared that the service is outstanding.

Staying at Landsdownw Resort, we decided to dine on site rather than go off-resort. Major mistake. Service was terrible but friendly and apologetic. It took an hour to get our food. Servings were small. Selection was very limited. Quality was mediocre. Still hungry and too late to go anywhere else. Don't waste your time or money.

We actually got a reservation, and were seated immediately.

The place has a large gas fireplace with nice comfy chairs surrounding, and a couple of pool tables in the back corner. There are lots of large TVs throughout the place, all turned to sports, and all with the sound muted. The TV at the back where we were had only the DirecTV logo bouncing around its screen.

The place is rather loud; it is a bar, after all. It is not quite a lobby bar in that it's rather larger, and does not open widely to the main lobby, but this is the Lansdowne's bar...right off the lobby.

I had a couple of craft beers from the surprisingly scant selection. One was pretty good and other was water, weak, and tasted rather of metal. Both were predictably expensive.

We both started with flatbreads, which were okay. I had the steak and my partner had the veg one. There was an awful lot of lettuce on hers, a bit much, really. The steak on mine was tasty, but rather scant.

I went with the cheezburger, which was okay but not remarkable. The bun was nice, but way too big for the burger. It came with potato chips; I should have asked for fries.

My partner went with the mac n' cheez, which she was was very good, and a side of the mushroom, which she really enjoyed. A plus for the restaurant was their decent vegetarian option. Portions sizes were good.

For dessert, we noticed their offering of "local" ice creams. We asked our waiter what that meant, and he had no idea what "local" ice cream was. We asked, per the menu, what the flavors of the day were, and he didn't really know, guessing that they'd probably be vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and rocky road. That's really not very impressive for a "selection of local ice creams." We each ordered two scoops to go, and neither were remarkable at all.

Service: overall, the entire staff seemed rather harried. A group of eight ws brought back near us with drinks in hand and profuse management apologies about having to move them from the front to the back and they never should have been seated where they had been originally...don't quite know what that was all about. The manager, or at least someone who likely was the manager--he didn't introduce himself--came over to ask how things were and if were well taken care of. Assuming he was from the management, that kind of visit is always a nice, positive touch.

The bill was pretty hefty, even for a luxury hotel/resort restaurant. The food and service were not good enough to justify the prices; I'm guessing we were paying for the surrounding resort.

Bottom Line: If you want quick food in a sit-down environment and don't want to dress up for the high-end resort restaurant, this is a good choice. All in all, the food wasn't too bad, with less than outstanding but still competent service. And don't be surprised by the large bill when you're done.
