We visited for a long weekend at the end of January and had an enjoyable stay.

Firstly, as the hotel is on a hill, you enter the hotel on the third floor. Our room was on the 3rd floor and overlooked the gardens. The hotel has 4 floors and the best rooms were definitely those with a pool view. The rooms are quite spacious and have an open plan bathroom.
Reception staff were helpful with any additional information you may need.
The breakfast was very good with lots of options of both cold and hot items. We especially liked the stuffed cheesy mushrooms and hash browns.
One sunny afternoon we enjoyed sitting outside in the rooftop Chillout bar and ordered a jug of sangria. It was disappointing for the cost and it also came in a plastic jug! I would expect something better for a 5 star hotel.
The outdoor pools are dark in colour (rather than typical blue) which is a bit strange but actually fits in with the surroundings. The indoor pool is free to use, but be aware that you will need a swimming cap which the spa sell for €5. We had booked treatments which were excellent. If you book a treatment it includes free entrance into the spa pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The spa pool was quite cold and uninviting, and in addition the steam room didn’t have any steam! The area needs a bit of maintenance.
The hotel is situated above Sao Rafael beach and there is access from the hotel via an exit at the bottom of the gardens and then a series of wooden walkways and steps. There is then public access to the beach below which is stunning.
There are not many restaurants near the hotel so it is at least a 15/ 20 minute walk to most of them.
We did get an Uber one day which was really cheap.
The hotel also runs a free shuttle bus to/from Albufiera 3 times a day so that is very useful.

This was our first visit to the Algarve and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is within easy travel distance from the airport .Car hire is easy and cheap .
It is set in a lovely area with direct access to a gorgeous beach .White sand and limestone rocks .Litter free on our visit .The weather was warm and sunny .We paddled but did not swim.No lifeguards at this time of year .The views are stunning and just to sit, read and relax was great .
The hotel was very quiet .Lovely well appointed rooms with good linen and towels .Very comfortable bed .
The breakfast was excellent .Plenty of choice and quality .Nice roof top bar .
The hotel grounds are very attractive .Olive groves and good views of the sea.
We visited Silves with its castle and stork nests as well as villages along the coast .
The vineyard of Sir Cliff is nearby and worth visiting .Good wine .
Service was friendly and warm .Nothing too much trouble .

We went during the winter time.So the weather wasn’t excellent for Portugal. But the hotel and beach was very beautiful. There is well laid wooden deck with stairs which takes you towards the beach. The view is fantastic. It’s a great spot for early morning walk or sunset view or sundowners. There was a heated pool in the spa.The room was big with contemporary design.Breakfast was delicious.Highly recommend it .

For the overall rating of this hotel it was disappointing. The breakfast is great. It has big variety, it’s fresh and well stocked. But dinner was much less impressive. There was limited vegetarian options and what we did eat was plain.
They are insistent about wearing a bathing cap in all pools so you are forced to buy a cloth hotel brand one at 5€. With that said the pools are very nice. The gym also has a good, large layout and selection of machines.
Beach is easy to access and the grounds are pretty and well maintained.
The room was clean and in good condition. It was disappointing that house keeping did not follow their protocol regarding towels. For environmental reasons we prefer not to get fresh towels every day and the service sheet stated towels would only be changed if towels were put in the shower. Which we never did yet they’re take all towels every time. They also would take away some garbage but left all the empty bottles.
We requested to have a serving tray for our room and you’d think we were asking for a pony! They initially said no and then after much discussion decided it would be “allowed”. Weird.
Front desk was friendly attentive.
Overall just not as impressive as other 4stars we’ve been to.

From the moment we arrived everything was 110%, we arrived at 11am because of our flight time and although check in wasn’t until 3pm it wasn’t a problem and we were given our room. Room was very spacious and cleanliness was second to none. Food was fantastic, Breakfast Buffet had everything you could think of, Dinner was top class and the service staff were very professional and accommodating. Our waiter “Daniel Alan” was a true gentleman throughout our stay. Reception staff were all top class and helpful with any information or advice we needed, Special word of thanks to “Sonia” for all her help during our stay. Will definitely visit again
