A little beer history with a great selection of beers. If you love craft beers you need to check this place out ASAP. They get some of the rarest beers across the commonwealth! Beers that wont usually leave the breweries can end up there... seasonal beers, special barrel ages, etc. We went on a saturday, but they usually have music on weekend evenings.

Happened upon the Beer Museum during the Halloween party. Outdoor band, dancing, taco food truck outside and beer and beer memorabilia inside this museum is definitely not your normal museum. Yes, kids are welcomed. Beer expensive, but hey, the music and party were free.

I did not think this was all that great. Granted they have a lot of steins and memorabilia and it is free to browse. Beer samples are small and expensive. Staff is knowledgeable about micro breweries throughout Virginia but it's just not big of a deal.

After a day of sightseeing, I wanted to take my dad to the Virginia Beer Museum on our way home as he is the beer drinker in the family. We got to Front Royal a little before 4pm, the time they open on Thursdays and sat in the car until it was 4. We walked over and there were no signs of life. We waited about 5 minutes and then I tried calling the Museums phone number, which went straight to voicemail. We waited another 5 minutes and then gave up. The times were posted on the door for every day of the week and nothing about not being open. Very disappointing. If they are going to be closed or open late, they should post on their door so everyone knows.

On behalf of museum board, I apologize for your inconvenience. There has only been one occasion that the museum was not open by 4:00 p.m. on a Thursday and that was on October 26, 2017, when I and two other museum volunteers were subpoenaed to J&D court as witnesses for a breaking and entering at the museum. The case was scheduled for 3:30 p.m. but, regrettably, was not resolved until 4:15 p.m. (after you had left). I did not anticipate the delay or would have made other arrangements so the museum could have accommodated you and your family. Regretfully and humbly yours, David

Basically an old house with rooms sparsely decorated with historic photos and memorabilia. One of the front rooms holds a small bar with quite a few draft beer options, most tasty and strong! At $7 a beer that"s a good thing! Out back, however, is the real attraction, an expansive lot full of picnic tables -- a biergarten. When we visited on a Saturday the Brennan Brothers were playing on the bandstand. Wow! Outstanding classic rock and blues. Great place for beer and music.
