We stayed with another couple for three nights at this property and were very disappointed from the start. It was advertised as being "waterfront" and a "luxury townhouse," but was neither..
The waterfront was actually across the street; calling it water view would have been far more accurate. The furnishings were serviceable, but barely; the beds squeaked when you sat on them and every time you moved, the sofas and chairs were dirty and the kitchen was not very clean nor very well equipped. The property accepted pets which is why we chose it, and we didn't see any ill effects from previous canine visitors -- a plus -- but it turns out that Chincoteague Island, being a wildlife refuge, is not a great place to bring a dog since they're not allowed anywhere in the park or on the nearest beach. We had ordered and prepaid for linens, but they weren't provided; we had to wait for the agency to send someone over and then had to wait again since they didn't bring enough the first time.
Finally, the agent's policy and contract call for the security deposit to be refunded within 30 days but since the property is inspected immediately after we depart and another group was moving in the same day, there was no reason for them to hold my security deposit for that long. They told me it is "their policy," which is realtor-speak for my loaning them money, interest free, for a month.
All in all, not a good experience.
