We had a wonderful stay at the Oakhurst Inn! We were traveling with my one year old son and they could not have been more welcoming of us. The suite was perfect for us since he could have his own room. The library upstairs is lovely and we loved the complimentary drinks. We highly recommend the Oakhurst Inn!

A really fascinating "Inn" which is a collection of houses in a quaint and private residential cul-de-sac, right near UVA campus. Our room was excellent, the nearby café (run by the Inn) was great, the anytime-you-want complimentary valet service was perfect (needed because of limited cul-de-sac parking and city parking enforcement vigilance), the office and other staff were great. We enjoyed it.

Very comfortable room. Wish it was a BnB format. Could easily include breakfast. Instead a nearby dining room offered Brunch, but the desk clerk who took us to our room did not know the price, so we skipped it and went elsewhere.

Room Tip: Our room was down stairs. Guests need to specify if stairs are a problem. There are rooms available that do not require taking stairs.

Liked the decor, sunny location, ironed linens and large bathroom in 7. Worth a return visit. Located across from UVA main campus. Great for walking through Jefferson's academic village. Staff is very helpful and friendly and the cafe menu was delicious.

Room Tip: Room 7 was great, and quiet.

My husband, 17 month old, 35lb dog, and I stayed at the Oakhurst Inn over Thanksgiving. The front desk staff were lovely and warm and provided great recommendations for both food and toddler-friendly activities. A pak-n-play was even set up and ready for our daughter when we arrived. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice (though it is walk-in shower only with one of the rainfall shower heads, so definitely a bit tricky if you have a baby/small child to bathe!) The only real problem we had was a fairly nasty interaction with one of the cleaning ladies who "accused" us of having a do not disturb sign on the door "all morning long" (we didn't - it was on from exactly 10:58- 11:45 while our baby was napping, we were out of the room the rest of the morning from 7:15 on) and then she insisted she HAD to clean the room during the 30 minutes my husband and I need to take an important time-sensitive phone call related to selling our house. She just kept arguing with us as we were literally phone in hand starting our call, until we basically had to close the door in her face - it was so odd! That being said, every single other staff member we encountered went out of their way to be friendly, so I just assume this particular woman was having a rough day. Bottomline, it was a nice place to spend the holiday, it was dog-friendly which can be hard to find, and I would stay again!
