Good wines, nice views and staff. However, do not go there with kids even though it was empty, they put you in a caged in area in back with no view. Awful treatment. Not good for kids! If you bring kids be prepared to sit in back, no view in a fenced in area. Really weird. Not at all like the other wineries.

Hi Christina, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry your visit to our Family Friendly Section did not meet your expectations. With two acres of land designated for families with children, most people appreciate that we have a Family Friendly Section and find it to be quite spacious. Many parents also appreciate that the area is fenced in so as to keep their children from getting too close to winemaking machinery and or the horse farm next door, where they might be injured. We hope this clears up any confusion you might have had about the area, and that will consider visiting us again in the future.

Disappointed wine is not made on site. The wine was average at best, although the atmosphere is fun if you're not really a big wine drinker. Plenty of tables to set up shop, bring a game or two. They have food trucks on weekends and live music which adds to their appeal. Beautiful grounds. All makings of good winery except the wine! They all taste similar to each other, except for 1 which was pine-y.

Hi TravelinT_N, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad you enjoyed the live music, picnic tables, and overall ambiance of the winery. With 225 acres of land on site, we are the largest operating farm in Fairfax County, where we grow a variety of grapes including those for our Norton wine. We also have an estate vineyard known as Rock Mill located in Little Washington, VA, with 115 acres of grapes, which get harvested and then produced here at The Winery at Bull Run. We hope we could clear up the confusion, and that you will consider visiting again in the future!

The long driveway in was unpaved & had many pot holes. It generated a lot of dust. The main building was or appeared to be run down & not very clear. It was not very inviting. Don’t expect a setting like Paradise Winery, Chrysalis, or Blue Valley.

We are sorry to hear that your visit to our winery did not meet your expectations, Jrazeghi. We are a historic farm winery first and foremost, and have intended the winery to look authentic from the start; this is why we have a gravel driveway rather than asphalt and a barn designed to look as it would have during the Civil War period. We were also undergoing construction this past winter (our off-peak season) on our state of the art wine production center and paved courtyard–perhaps you visited on a day when we were conducting this construction. Now that the barn and courtyard are finished, we hope you will consider visiting us again—cheers!

We love The Winery at Bull Run. The wine is great and not overpriced and the view is beautiful. We became club members after we booked our wedding and before they gave an event discount for members because we liked it so much here. We are frequents and love to come with friends and family. The history is very cool and we love going to their tasting events. We’ve done flight nights (GS cookie was the best) and their Halloween Tour (an absolute must). The staff here is very knowledgeable and friendly and the property is huge. Just love it here.

We bought the delicious strawberry and raspberry wine and sat in rocking chairs outside while a live musician played. It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Check to see if there’s a food truck before you go! If there’s not, definitely bring a picnic and enjoy the several picnic tables with umbrellas! FYI no pets allowed!

Overall we had a great time!!
