I love to walk around the garden after work. The flowers are beautiful during the Spring. Great place for a photo shoot for proms, weddings and family photos. Wonderful place to walk and decompress after a long day.

Get your camera (or phone) ready. The trails and flowers are beautiful. People walking and enjoy nature. You'll probably one to take one picture after another moving from one flower to another bush to another blooming tree. Quaint benches and paths wind around. Cross the streets for more of a walk through the forest experience. Its all free.

Loved it here! You could smell the flowers when you walked. Across the street had more flowers with huge pine trees which I’m obsessed with. We took great pics and had a lot to look at. Def worth the visit!

With some help from a local police officer who directed us to the parking spot near the garden, we spent some time strolling through the Mize Azalea Garden. The azaleas were in bloom and very pretty. It was a little early in the season (late March) but the dogwoods were also in bloom. The garden has a paved walkway to follow. We heard but did not see many birds. The garden is adjacent to the arboretum near the SFA campus. It required crossing a fairly busy street and we did not feel spry enough to chance the crossing. Spring is probably the best time to visit this garden as I am sure the summer could be hot. On our visit the weather could not have been better and the trees shaded our walk through the garden. A pleasant way to spend some time in Nacogdoches.

We are on a road trip and found this little gem on TripAdvisor. It was fantastic. So glad we stopped. You can walk right into the Mast Arboretum from these gardens.
