As is often the case, it is the people that make a difference. The host was very helpful whenever we needed advice and she provided us with fresh farm eggs as well as the essential s such as bread and milk. The location was rural but near enough to a great pub restaurant. It was also central to much of Skye and sites such as Dunvegan castle, a well preserved broch and Portree for the occasional coffee at Arriba. The host, Lisa, was able to provide advice on getting to special sites such as Fairy Dell, something that is strangely not mentioned on our travel guide. Definitely recommended. The accommodation was wonderfully comfortable with views of the rolling hills

Just returned form a magical few days at The Snug. The cottage has been designed and kitted out to the very highest standard and has every luxury and accessory that we could have wished for. The cottage's location is not only stunning, but really well appointed for exploring Skye, and there's plenty to do locally too. Lisa was a wonderful and thoughtful host and we were both very grateful for the warm Skye welcome. Thank you, Lisa, for a terrific wee holiday - we'll be back for the northern lights!

My wife and I spend 3 fantastic nights at the Snug which was our first time on Skye. The snug was absolutely perfect for our stay and finished very well both inside and out. Lisa offered us plenty of advice on where to eat and things to do. She also left some bread, milk, bacon and eggs which was a nice touch. We would both love to go back soon and thoroughly recommend a stay here.
We stayed at the Snug for a week and we loved it. The place is immaculate, has got everything you will need and more. The bed was super comfy and we loved the log burner. Lisa and her husband were brilliant and made us feel very comfortable. They confirmed our restaurant booking for us and booked us a taxi which I thought was very nice of them. When we arrived we found bread, eggs, bacon and milk in the fridge. The eggs come from Lisa's hens and they were lovely. There were toiletries in the bathroom and bathrobes, you really just need to bring some clothes as Lisa has thought of everything you may need.
The area is very peaceful and I much preferred it to staying in Portree, which is not far anyway.
One the highlights of the week was bottle feeding Lisa's lambs! If we ever go back to Skye we will be staying at the Snug.

Close to Portree but rural enough to enjoy great views and walks from the doorstep. A good base for the Duirinish & Waternish peninsulas. Comfortable and well-equipped, including a BBQ and log burner.
