“Breezy, perfectly-located, quiet apartment directly on a stunning beach, 5-minute walk into Palau!”
Reviewed 19 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Jasmine-scented breezes, tranquil aquamarine sea, absolute peace & quiet--this little apt is a gem, w/lovely, helpful owners & management. My husband, 17yo daughter & I enjoyed a week here in June 2016, and would happily visit again!

-Never closed windows the entire trip--it was just too perfect (temperature & noise). At night we never heard a thing except a gentle splash along the shore and the very rare murmur of someone walking by.
-Short walk through lovely pine grove to the town beach and onward to the center with restaurants, etc. Note: if you're in a hurry, fastest route is to walk directly along train tracks and sidewalk on main road.
-Front door of apt to beach is about 45 seconds, and you can see and talk to people on the beach from your front window.
-Hooks on the walls--nice way to be able to easily store clothes.
-Washing machine upstairs, and access to clothesline from the master bedroom window (you'll need to bring laundry detergent).
-Massimo & Elena could not have been sweeter and more helpful--Massimo even helped me find a boat to rent.

-Owner speaks English; Massimo & Elena, who take care of the apartment (check-in, etc.) speak Italian, French and Russian between them--if you need questions answered in English, get that sorted w/owner before your trip.
-On your way to check in, plan to stop and pick up these items: toilet paper, bottled water*, hand soap, shampoo--none in the apartment when we arrived! Saw comments about that in notes from previous guests in the apartment, so seems to be a standing policy and not an oversight. Plan accordingly; there are a couple of grocery stores very close . *According to Massimo, you cannot drink/brush your teeth with tap water. No big deal--just use bottled water.
-Directions to the apt are a little thin. It will help if, as you approach Palau, you follow signs for "Ristorante Gritti" and "Ristorante Faro." Those will get you to the exactly right community, and then you can follow the specific directions to the apartment.
-Sardinians take very good care of their island/nature; the result is the beautiful clear water and trash-free beaches. The price you pay is the serious trash recycling--you have to sort all your trash in the apt and take it to trash enclosure and further sort into glass, plastic, tin, etc. We did not know ahead of time, and I think it's worth mentioning. If we went back, we'd take extra trash bags to make it easier.
-No WiFi, but you can find at many restaurants in town.

“Perfect family holiday by the sea”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Elisa's place is beautiful and looks over the beach below.

The flat is elegant, comfortable (for 3 small children and 3 adults) and full of beautiful objects. Porto Faro is a lovely little bay 10 minutes walk from Palau.

Each morning we would walk down to the sea 15m below for a swim and collect shells with the kids. We would then return from lunch, usually fresh pasta from Palau, which we ate around the round table in the kitchen-living room. After a rest from the midday heat, we would walk along the railway tracks or through the small pine forest to the nearby swimming area for our afternoon swim. Then we would eat at home or in one of the many nice restaurants in Palau, where one can get a delicious meal for 30 euros a head.

Massimo helped us with any problems (e.g. when the gas ran out and when I needed a doctor, getting a taxi to the airport (Olbia 1 hour away).

All in all it was a fabulous holiday for which we thank Elisa.
