During my wife's business trip to Houston, I wanted to find a few places to photograph while she was busy in conferences. I found on a Houston web site that this was the number one photographed place in Houston was the Water wall. So I ventured out to see for myself. And I must say...it is a neat place. Quite fascinating. I spent quite a while here taking photos. It was a pain to get to because of road construction. And the parking situation is horrible. But it was worth it. It was a great place to see and photograph.

Located in downtown Houston, it's an hour drive if you are staying in Katy! It's very close to the Galleria Mall.
It's a very big and beautiful structure. Very relaxing to look at and surely worth visiting and having some good souvenirs to take back home.

I have never seen a water wall this large. It's a great place to take photos. There is a huge lawn of grass in front of it where you can hang out and people watch. It is just across the street from The Galleria so be sure and walk over to experience the movement of water.

Take a quick 15 minutes to take a photo op of the fam here. Super cool man made waterfall structure, 70,000 gallons of water pour over the top every minute. Don't get too close though unless you want to get wet!

Since I arrived early in the morning in Houston on a Sunday there was no traffic so I just temporarily parked on the street between the wall and a condo development. For those who don’t want to risk a ticket the Galleria parking is
about a block away.

Overall I spent around 10 minutes walking around the water wall. From behind the water falls very slowly. However, as I entered the inside and stood facing the water the full force could be felt and heard as the water tumbled down from the top. With the spray coming off the wall I am sure this place is popular during a hot day.

The is a large expanse of grass in front of the wall to picnic or play frisbee. A couple of people were in the surrounding park this early in the morning - walking their dogs or doing yoga. However close to the steps leading up to the water wall was quite muddy.
