“Close to the Beach & Restaurants”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Accompanied by my 2 adult daughters and 3 granddaughters, I ventured across the state of Texas to Galveston Island (and this little bungalow I found online) for 3 days of fun in the sun. Having priced hotel rooms, getting a 3 bedroom home that we could all share for the same price as a single room at a motel was refreshing. The proximity to the beach was an added bonus – just 1 ½ blocks.

The house was easy to locate and quite recognizable from the picture online. It has lovely tropical landscaping front and back. I was taken aback by the neighborhood which is low-income residential and not nearly as well kept as the rental itself. I will say, however, that our stay was peaceful and the neighbors were friendly.

The house is pretty small, but it was fine for a landing spot to change clothes and sleep. The bathroom shower is roomy and the bath towels were plentiful, fluffy and white. The beds linens were fresh & clean, albeit synthetic – not cotton. Each bedroom had a television, DVD player and window a/c unit, as did the living area. Overall, the house could use some TLC – but it served its purpose and we had a great time on vacation.

“5 Over 60yr old cousins go to Mardi Gras”
Reviewed 27 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

The house was adequate. Beds & pillows were comfortable. The house was clean. We found two of the biggest issues were having NO decent tv stations to even watch the news. We were there during the Olympics and could not watch any of it! And having no Internet even tho we knew there was no Internet before we rented it! There is not a kitchen table so eating together was not an option and the living room furniture is really patio furniture. The sea wall is close and if the weather had been warm it looked like the outside back area was larger than the living room! The one bathroom has a large walk-in shower.

Management Response
27 Feb 2014
The pictures of this cute bungalow are very clear on furnishings. There is a small dining table in the kitchen and you can bring in the outdoor light weight plastic patio table to suit more guests.

I'm surprised the guest complained about the TV channels - the Olympics were on prime channel and we do get reception for that. It is good that the guest was honest enough to admit that limited channels and no-internet is disclosed and yet still chose to complain about it.

It would have been nice if she wrote about being allowed to enter 2 hours early when they called me and said they had arrived early.
