Very clean...well maintained bed and breakfast. Dave and Maria make you feel comfortable and at home. Maria's breakfast was top notch. We don't usually stay in b&b's but Dave and Maria might change our minds.

Room tip: all have ac's

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights in a room on the second floor of this historic house. The hosts (Dave and Maria) were both welcoming and wonderful. Maria was nice enough to help me with some slight food allergies during breakfast, and both of them were always willing to help with information about what to do and where to eat.

We took the opportunity to walk around the neighborhood, including walking down to the beach. We really enjoyed seeing the neighborhood, including the neighbors' progress of remodeling and repairing their homes in the historic district. We even saw a home that was being raised (not razed) so it could be put on stilts.

It is plenty close to the beach - well within walking distance - and actually close enough to Pleasure Pier to walk as well. There is a little café adjacent to the house, although you won't be needing any breakfast items.

All three of our breakfasts were very well prepared with quality ingredients. Juice, coffee and tea were all offered up, with Dave and Maria working together to get everyone served. Having a single meal together at 9AM really was quite a lot of fun - more enjoyable than I was expecting.

Our room (Oleander) was an enjoyable place to sleep and rest after a long day of touring. The bathroom is quaint, and very functional. Most importantly, the water pressure and supply of hot water was perfect - not at all reflective of the age of the home. Likewise, the A/C unit was more than capable of keeping us comfortable during the night. The King-sized bed was also very comfortable.

Interestingly enough, the B&B coordinates Cruise parking as well, making our trip that much less expensive and simple. We were able to park very close to the cruise port for free, which turns out to be much more important than I would have thought. And, for those that are wondering, the Wifi was free and plenty fast even with a full house. We were able to stream Netflix without any issue at all.

We cannot say enough about Dave and Maria. We had an opportunity to speak with them at length during our first breakfast, and it was just a joy to get to know them.

We would stay here again in a second. We enjoyed our time so much that I would not hesitate.

Room tip: Oleander is the first room at the top of the first flight of stairs.

I stayed at the Lost Bayou Guest House for a night as part of a motorcycle trip across the USA. It was the perfect place after a long days ride. I was made to feel very welcome, the room was cozy, clean and warm and in a quiet area. 'Family' breakfast with the other guests was a nice touch and I would happily stay here again.

Stayed here for 1 night pre cruise after reading reviews on tripadvisor. Great choice. Beautiful building with lovely hosts. Breakfast is served at 9am and everyone sits together at a family style table, this gave us the chance to meet some other guests, all delightful. Dave dropped us off at the cruise port, very much appreciated. I will definitely return to the Lost Bayou.

Room tip: Great for a cruise stopover
