This modern and well laid out hotel complex is located in a quite hill side just 30 mins from Bologna . Spread over lots of area, there are several pools, spars and outside seating areas.
Rooms are modern and attractive , large beds , nice bathrooms and well serviced
The main restaurant is large spacious and nice views over the hills into the valley. Breakfast was generous and lots of choice. The locally grown estate food and wine feature regularly and are tasty and well prepared. The service is a bit ropey in the restaurant and struggles to meet 4* status - tables are roughly laid out , service poorly organised and sometimes just amateurish.
The bar area is nicely located, ambiance is good and the drinks are excellent [but as you might expect you do pay for it.]
My wife ordered tea for 1 in her room - Cost £12.
Spa is good with spacious areas and good quality facilities, nice hot rooms and good changing rooms.
The best kept secret is their little Marsolese Trattoria just on the edge of the site. Great food and service friendly team make a good effort here and about half the price of the main hotel .Book this first.
We stayed a week, it was a great location for visiting the hotspots branching off to Venice, Florence and little Ravenna.
Book ahead for best value and you will enjoy a relaxing stay out in the countryside.
Hire car recommended.
PS the Italians have a rule which prevents hotels from turning on their heating until dates in October- so we couldn't get a heated bathroom and towel rail?

Room Tip: Huge choice of facilities

Perfect place to relax whilst doing business. Even with loads of telecoms and stress of work, you can't but help feel relaxed in these perfect surroundings and 5-star service. Don't hesitate and treat yourself to a perfect stay. Restaurant food on the evening was superb.

A very luxurious resort with all the trimmings, set on a hilltop in beautiful countryside. The thunderstorm was spectacular with the plains under dark cloud and lightening showing up the neighbouring hills. We escaped here for a weekend, and it really did feel like an escape. The sport and spa facilities are very good (infinity pools as far as the eye can see, indoor and outdoor gym, tennis and ping-pong, a full menu of massages, bikes and wonderful grounds to walk in. Very stylish room overlooking a lake with the most comfortable bed - very peaceful. A wonderful break. Next time I would bring my road bike.

I came with my daughter for a relaxing spa break in the sunshine and we had a great time. The resort is very pretty and very relaxing. The food was of excellent quality, however as we stayed 4 nights and only one restaurant was available for lunch and dinner, we started to tire of the menu. The main restaurant by the pool needs a different lunch menu to the evening and we couldn’t get pizza at lunchtime as they only serve it in the evening, which was disappointment. The cocktails in the bar were stunning and the nibbles that came with them also good. We did notice a smell of sewage from time to time, both in our bathroom and by the outdoor pool, so there may be an issue there. We also had problems with lots of ants in our bedroom but we couldn’t work out where they were coming from. One big thing the hotel really needs to do is to put air conditioning in the bedrooms. In a hot Italian summer this is essential and the fact you can only change the temperature by 4 degrees (18-21c) was not good enough for a hotel in the luxury category. The staff really made this vacation for us -every member of staff was helpful, welcoming and smiley! We will be back and hope you have air conditioning by then!

My husband don and I spent three nights on a last minute stop at the resort instead of staying in downtown Bologna due to the excessive heat. The resort is very reasonably priced give the accommodations and the lovely hotel amenities. It is a hilltop setting with lovely vistas, good service , great pools and spa. We were lucky to be there during a busy time so all three restaurants were open. We loved the dinners by the pool with the sun setting, good food, great service. We found meals fairly priced with a good selection. We drove into Bologna one day and spent the rest at the hotel given the extreme heat. Service at the spa was great, thank you Federica was also warm and greeted me by name each time she saw me—-what a difference that makes. Most guests were Italian with a sprinkling of other Europeans.
If there were anything that could be better it would be to provide more towels in the room, and maybe better mosquito control .
So if you are traveling thru Italy and need some R&R or just a break so kids can enjoy the pool this is a great stop.
