We made our second Christmas visit this weekend, but with the Grandkids. Three weekends ago the wife and I visited on our yearly Christmas visit. This is a must see for all of us that are young at heart. Christmas brings out the kid in us and no better place to visit than Dollywood and the Pigeon Forge area. The entire park is lit up in the biggest Christmas fashion you can think of. All the shows are Christmas orientated toward Christmas. After spending the day starting around 8:15 pm there is the nightly Christmas parade. This you can not miss if you want to see Santa. Come and enjoy the festivities, you still have a few weeks left to do so. If time does permit this year put it in your schedule for next November when the 2019 festivities will once again begin.

This was my family's first visit to Dollywood at Christmas time. We had a wonderful time. The park was clean, family-friendly and the workers there were very hospitable. THANKFULLY NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED!!! At night the Christmas lights were absolutely beautiful. If you have never been there at Christmas time GO! If you have then you know what I am talking about. Simply breathtaking and be sure to be there for the CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHT SHOW AND 8:15, CHRISTMAS PARADE

We visited Dollywood in early October. Pumpkin Luminights was going on. There were cute pumpkin character displays, a pumpkin carver, outside vendors set up in the park selling various items and fall themed food...The pumpkin funnel cake was huge. Plenty to share. Wait times were short but the Lightning Rod was down this trip. Favorite coaster is the Wild Eagle. I have been to Dollywood all 4 seasons now and if I could only pick one time to go my absolute favorite is during Christmas( end of November, early December)

What an enjoyable first visit to Dollywood. Weather was occasional showers and cool but not terribly cold. We had such a lovely time. We saw 3 shows that were very good. A highlight was to the Dolly Parton Museum. Her life and career are amazing. I have always liked her. She gives back to her community and her family. The holographic images of her with he telling some of her story was a very nice touch.

We had dinner at Miss Lillian's Smokehouse. What a nice meal. I didn't expect such good food from a buffet at a park, but we were all greatly surprised. The fried chicken was some of the best I have ever eaten. They had a carving station with roast beef and ham. My niece (who is 50) loved the apples so much she had them for dessert. All the foods we had were very very good. Her gentleman friend was not greatly enthused about going to Dollywood as he'd been several times before. Now he wants to go back just for this restaurant's food.

The Glacier of lights was beautiful. Long strings of lights hanging from trees that would change colors to music. Lovely. Everything was such fun. A lot of walking for me, but well worth it.

Some of the rides were operating, but that is not my thing.
