The first room we checked into (408) had an A/C unit that didn’t work which we discovered after settling in and being unpacked. After going back to the front desk, they had us move to room 409 across and down the hall. This meant packing everything up which is a big hassle after you are ready to be done from a long travel day. Room 409 had a broken desk chair, stains/dirt on sofa fabric and a sticky substance on one nightstand which is far from “clean and sanitized”. The next morning we found that the bathroom sink drain plug did not work. This hotel’s maintenance/housekeeping needs to pay more attention to detail which is a management issue with training and supervision.
While the front desk was somewhat apologetic, we don’t feel we got value for the money paid which is too bad because we typically stay at Marriott Hotels and this is a relatively new building that could be exceptional, since the room layout and fixtures in the newer Spring Hill Suites is really great.
