Description: Great southern food served family style in a historic setting. Monell's at the Manor is located in an old antebellum home and our service is family style. No reservations, first come, first served. You will be placed at large tables with other people and we bring out platters of southern food. Price includes drink, dessert, entree, vegetables, salads and bread. Menu changes daily. Call for daily selections. After eating stroll upstairs and enjoy the antique furnishings or sit on the veranda and watch the planes go by. Everyone in the party must be present before being seated. We do not have private tables. We will keep your group all together. If you take up a chair, you will be charged. No cellphones at the table and pass to the left.

The restaurant is a family style place: when you arrive you will be seated at a large table with other parties, and once the table is full the food will start coming. We went for lunch. Sweet, unsweet tea, water and lemonade are included in the price and sit on pitchers on the table. Food is brought in large serving bowls and you pass around to the left. Lunch included fried chicken (no offense, similar to KFC), fried fish, stuffed shells (rumor has it the owners are Italian?) greens, hushpuppies, biscuits and white gravy, cornbread, corn pudding and a variety of cold salads. Dinner is slightly more $$ and includes an additional meat. Eat all you want. I am not that familiar with Southern comfort food and am somewhat picky but I found plenty to eat and like; it was all very good. Banana pudding for dessert was very good. Service is very basic, mostly dropping off the food and then checking to see if the bowls are empty and you need more. I found it more appetizing than many of the cafeteria style restaurants that promote Southern food and have them sitting in hot serving trays that are popular around Tennessee. Located just south of the airport it is convenient coming, going or almost wherever you stay.

This restaurant is close to the airport. It is a very well kept mansion that serves great food. You sit a table that seats about 14 people. The food is mostly southern style and you do not order from a menu. Everything we had was just fantastic including the dessert. I would just say it is a unique expierence you do not want to miss.

I didn’t like this Monell’s location the food was very mediocre. It also wasn’t as advertised you can’t say you are serving catfish sand serve whiting there is a big difference in my opinion. The meats came out so much later than the sides which I hadn’t experienced before. A lot of things were out of the can or frozen nothing was fresh/homemade. It was very disappointing for the kind of money you pay for dinner it could’ve and should’ve been a lot better. To top things off banana pudding that was just pudding I just can’t express how disappointing the dinner meal at this location was. I will not be returning here I will stick to the downtown location if I even eat at Monell’s for dinner again.

Great experience at Monell's! We were seated with some great folks (family style seating) and had great conversation and terrific food! You can tell that each dish was prepared with southern "love"!

First time visit but will go back. There was no waiting when we went for dinner. Delicious sweet tea. They also served lemonade, unsweetened tea and water that was included in price of meal. Served coleslaw with cornbread and biscuits, cucumber salad, and peach preserves while we waited for food. Excellent fried chicken and pork chops, Mac and cheese, boiled red potatoes, green beans, cornbread stuffing, corn relish and cranberry relish. Food was delicious and the old manor was amazing. Originally built in 1898 ? and rebuild after a fire in 1923? Would recommend it to anyone. Great prices too!!!
