That is a direct quote from our host when quizzed by a passenger. Actually, there was very little bird and no animal life to be seen considering it's national park. All seemed a bit eerily quiet and deserted.
Not the most dramatic/interesting/varied stretch of river, either. Commentary is knowledgeable, but a bit robotic and monotonous, and only on the outbound leg.
Only option was a 1.5 hour cruise, so we sped back down the river to get back in time and I thought I saw a Kingfisher but we were going too fast.
Suggest don't go as far, but maintain speed at which wildlife can be seen and photographed.
