“Dream location and Welsh hospitality at its very best”
Reviewed 12 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

What a place to stay and what a location! The 'sales description' for the cottage is entirely accurate and Pembrokeshire is just as lovely as everyone says.

Ty Mortimer is an excellent, comfortable place to be if you want to 'get away from things' in the countryside, but don't want to be too remote. Not only is St David's pretty close by road, but the coast path is just 15 minutes' walk away. Added to that, the hospitality of Rob and Eleri is second to none and also optional. Genuinely welcoming, they will answer questions, lend you bits and bobs, check you're OK or just have a chat IF YOU WANT THAT. If you want to be left alone they don't intrude.

Having a car makes sense if you are staying here, since you'll need to be determined people if you intend to walk direct to shops and other facilities in St. Davids every other day (1.5 to 2 miles each way, on unlit lanes).

The house is cosy and well-equipped -a home from home. How lucky we are to have found this! Thank you for having us.

“Tremendous Ty Mortimer Cottage at Treginnis Farm”
Reviewed 3 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We arrived at Treginnis Farm to a warm welcome from Rob and Eleri Davies. Located close to the Pembrokeshire coastal path and a short walk to the hidden gem that is Porthllisky Beach, Ty Mortimer is a lovely, cosy cottage set within spectacular scenery. Ty Mortimer is merely a short drive to or leisurely walk away from the village atmosphere and amenities of the City of St David's. You cannot visit St David's without treating yourself to a sublime Ice Cream from Gianni's which is conveniently located in the centre of the High Street. Eleri Davies is a mine of information when it comes to local restaurants, events and things to do both locally or elsewhere in Pembrokeshire.

The fantastic surfing (or body-boarding) beaches of Newgale and Whitesands are located conveniently close by. And of course you can see a fantastic variety of wildlife if you venture out along the coastal path. From sea birds such as Cormorants and Guillemots, birds of prey such as Buzzards, Kestrels and Red Kites to much smaller birds such as Swallows, Pied Wagtails and Red Starts, there is plenty to see for the birding enthusiast. If you're lucky you might also spot Seals, Porpoises or Dolphins whilst walking the coastal path. In summary, Ty Mortimer is a great base for a fantastic holiday. We definitely hope to return to this lovely venue.

“Lovely cottage in stunning scenery”
Reviewed 25 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Arriving here after a long journey we we delighted to find a cosy, clean and comfortable cottage. Everything you need is there (even wifi!). The owner had provided some thoughtful welcome supplies including milk, wine, tea, coffee and welshcakes...

The cottage is 2 km from St David's and the journey to the city takes just five minutes in the car or you can walk it in 30 mins. St David's is a lovely city and has all you might need - shops, restaurants and pubs.

The cottage is ideally placed for the Pembrokeshire coast path - there are many lovely walks from the cottage along the coast with stunning scenery. Beaches for the kids are close by. Bird spotters will be in heaven - we saw swallows, stonechats and a multitude of sea birds close to the cottage. Day trips to Stackpole Quay and Skomer are within an hours drive from the cottage.

We loved it and are planning to go back...

“A wonderful experience in a lovely part of West Wales”
Reviewed 11 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We left booking our break a little late, but Eleri and Rob helped to make the process so easy.
The pre holiday information was great and we arrived at Ty Mortimer as planned.
The cottage is deceptively large, plenty big enough for a family of four in our case and has everything we could have needed.
Eleri met us on arrival and went through the arrangements for the cottage and gave us a rundown of the local walks to nearby coves, etc.
The basic essentials are on site, tea, coffee and a pint of milk, which we just topped up before leaving.
We went on local walks, travelled out to the Havens and Whitesands beach, went on a jet boat tour around Ramsey island and visited St David Cathedral.
We met up with some old friends in Fishguard.
Returning each night to the cottage, for a very peaceful nights sleep.
St Davids has a number of Pubs and variety of places to eat out or take away.
We loved the experience and will be looking to book again.
Tip:
There is a slight additional charge for electricity and there is only one toilet, but don't let this put you off.

“Our favourite holiday destination”
Reviewed 7 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This has to be the most beautiful corner of Britain. We return here year after year and it just gets better. Treginnis is a magical place. A lovely comfortable cottage set in spectacular scenery. It is very close to fantastic coastal walks overlooking Ramsey island where you often catch sight of seals. It has a special micro-climate that means you really do get the best of the welsh weather . . even when its raining in St. Davids! The cottage has everything you need to have a great stay, including a barbeque, place for bikes and a great play area at the front. Eleri and Rob are wonderful hosts who are happy to show you life on the farm without intruding on your holiday. A slice of perfection!
