Friendly staff, came here based on online review. Food quality was very poor, we had the chicken, ham and leek pie and we struggled to find the meat, what there was was tough and lacking a sauce. Maybe we chose the wrong dish but other dishes looked just as poor. Why no veggies guys?

The Griffin Inn is a cosy little restaurant right by the sea. The view is stunning if you follow the advice above. I could happily have sat an watched the boats and sea coming and going all day. On our trip to Wales we ended up eating here twice. Once by accident, the second time because we overheard the staff describing the fresh fish dishes and couldn’t help ourselves.

If you’re there at the weekend it’s best you ring ahead to avoid disappointment, though the staff are so welcoming I’m sure they’d find some way to magic another seat for you.

Fish and seafood is par for the course here and I’ll say with all honestly I’m not normally a fan, or at least I’m massively fussy when it comes to fish. But the skills of the chef meant I left full and content having had some of the best fish I’d ever had.

Not sure what to have? Simply follow the lead of the team as the specials change depending on what’s been caught that day. But definitely have the gravlax cured in a seaweed gin, and accompany it with the Griffin’s own take on G&T with samphire.

Called off here for a quick lunch yesterday with my husband and were so impressed that we returned with my parents today and had a lunch of mussels (to die for), scampi and cod and chips. Fabulous food that tasted fresh from the sea, beautifully presented in perfect portions. Add to that a beautiful interior of a wonderful old pub with a view that's hard to beat. Oh and I should mention lovely landlords Simon and Sian - friendly, welcoming and passionate about what they do. Thank you. A perfect end to our holiday

We called in for luncheon. On a cold windy day just before the season we loved the cosy fires and the delightful welcome. There is an adequate choice of drinks, but this may need expansion when the season arrives. The food is brilliant. We chose from a comprehensive menu and everyone was happy. Keep it up.

Following friends recommendations we visited the Griffin Inn for lunch hoping for some fesh fish on the menu.
On arrival, the open fire and warm welcome set our expectations but the extensive variety of fresh fish available was a pleasant surprise, as was the comprehensive explanation of each dish.
To describe the food as magnificent would still not do it justice. We all agreed the fish was the best we had ever eaten in our collective 180 years of experience!!
A must if you are anywhre nearby.
Thanks very much for the attentive service and fantastic experience.
