Let me start off by saying this park is very clean, staff incredibly helpful, friendly and always did their best. But as my husband said the dogs were better behaved than the children and if channel 4 or Jeremy Kyle knew about this holiday park there would be a program made about it.

We had the misfortune of being in one of the caravans near the sites play park which is clearly signed for children under 12. The teenagers on the park who all seemed to know each other ignored this fact, and were regularly using the park until gone midnight. Security did their best but the children hid as security approached and simply came out again once they had left.

We have had many holidays on caravan parks and this is by far the worst. The children played all day as well riding on the wrong side of the roads with numerous electric vehicles. How none of them were injured defies me.

The store on site was depleted and didn’t appear to be restocked whilst we were there.

Swimming pool was pleasantly warm and well staffed although the slide wasn’t open very often.

Reception staff tried to help but as the park was full (bank holiday week / half term) there wasn’t any alternative accommodation available .

Many of the caravans appeared to be privately owned which has meant Park Dean seem to have lost control of the park. The caravan we stayed in was advertised as for 6 but we struggled as a family (grand parents parents and daughter) to function in it. It was very small no storage space. The bathroom was ridiculously tiny meaning if you sat on the toilet you burnt your knees in the towel rail. There wasn’t enough room to dry yourself and no hooks for clothes so these went on the floor and got wet. Food had to stay on the work top as no cupboard space and the fridge was so small you couldn’t fit 4 pints of milk in it.

Location wise being situated on the estuary is very picturesque but you will need a car to be able to buy basics or get out and about.

Since leaving I have had an email from the park apologising for our experience.

Would we go again ? Never. Would we recommend ? No sorry. Only stay here if you like no sleep and the experience of people the like of which we had never seen. Parents seem to go here to abandon their children and responsibilities whilst there.

Booked a sun holiday here and yes it is off the beaten track but it well worth it. stunning views of the sea and really lovely walks in the sun.
The clubhouse is very clean and tidy the food was really good especially the breakfast and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The shop is small and slightly over priced but we went to the Morrison in Carmarthen for the bigger stuff you may want. Stayed mon-fri and yes you could hear the train track but it wasn't to the point you couldn't sleep after a couple of days I didn't even notice it. Some of the chalets on the park look out dated but the Caravan we stayed in was lovely and clean and had all the essentials you could want. They had entertainment on which was great for kids we only went a couple of nights wasn't really our cuppa tea (4 adults).
I would recommend and hopefully we will be going back here next year.

Room Tip: Worth upgrading your caravan

We found the club house dirty floor full of food especially around the children's play area. And my son left his Samsung tablet on his bunk bed when we left after trying to ring for 2 days to ask about it.. there was no sign of it. He is completely devastated. I know it was cleaned that morning because clean sheets were left outside for the next family. Shocking to think but obviously taken by someone in employment there.

The clubhouse is great, food is tasty, good value, comes really quickly and all of the staff are lovely and the place is well kept and clean. The arcade has loads of games for kids and adults to enjoy.
Things that let it down :

The Chalets are quite ugly & not much has been done to pretty them up. It does look a little depressing when you’re driving through.
The clientele this week have been quite loud - we had a 2.30am wake up call on Sunday from a bunch of people walking back to their van.
For me, I don’t think the site has enough facilities to offset the fact that it’s far away from a decent beach and to get to it, it’s a two mile single track road. The “beach” is an estuary with no swimming allowed. The pool on site is quite small and a bit boring. (N.B. Don’t buy a pool noodle from the pool, buy it from the on site Nisa - it’s a pound cheaper.)

recently returned from a Sun holiday mid week break , My overiding memory of this park is the overwelming smell in the gents toilet in the Boat House Bar, smell isent strong enough, the stench was overpowering, you could smell it from outside the closed door, spoke to a bar person about it whithin minuits of arrival, told weve donr all we can, within an hour reported it to reception, staff tried to cover the smell with bleach which made the problem worse.
Good Things.
Very well presented caravan and friendly staff, average entertainmentthough the majic show was very good
Other bad things.

Site is very isolated you need your own ttansport, IS NOT A BEACH its an esturey made up of sand and mud, much has been said about the lane access but its totally fine if you just take your time, sadly we will never return here
