A cute cottage. Oddly I have not read any other reviews that mention this but the smell of damp is very strong, sweet and sickly. This spoilt the stay for me. Also no coffee maker, which I rang up about but received no answer.
The cottage has everything that you need a lovely hidden garden beautiful scenery ,fab beaches 10/15 mins drive loads of walks , childs park area just round the corner . A bottle of wine and a cake with a welcome note. It was very peaceful the odd few tractors and bus passing the cottage . If you go like us when the following weekend is race the train if yo want to eat out book early , on our last night we decided we would have tea out when we found a pub with tables it was a 50min wait but it was worth it in the end . If you take your pooch try broad water it is very pebbley but is so quiet plenty of places for your dog

We stayed for a week at the end of June.
The location was perfect. Llanegryn is a lovely village in the dysynni valley. A proper rural retreat.
We couldn't find the cottage at first as there was no name on the front of it. Most other cottages in the village have names on so a building name sign would help.
There is a secure back garden which was perfect for our dog. The cottage has a lovely woodburner and despite it being June, we lit it every night. You do need to buy your own logs and kindling.
The property has an electric meter which you have to top up. This caught us by surprise as we arrived without enough change and there was no credit in the meter. It didnt eat the money we put in however it does seem old fashioned and for the price of the cottage, it would have been nice not to have to think about the electricity running out.
The cottage is a period property and has a nice layout. Whilst the beams and low ceilings give the cottage charm, the property could do with some modernising of furnishings. The sofa wasn't comfy and the chairs were tiny. A larger more comfy sofa would have allowed us to enjoy the lovely fire even more.
The carpet in the living room is old and stained and covers the original slab flooring. Ripping this up and putting a nice rug would be a big improvement.
The kitchen facilities are excellent and served us very well. Everything has been thought of.
The beds were comfy and it was nice not being woken by the dreaded alarm clock and instead wake to birds singing outside.
We really did have a lovely week at rhine cottage and the comments above are little niggles that if addressed would enhance the experience. I would happily stay there again. One of the cottages down the road sells cakes and jams and has an honesty box. The Bara brith was awesome.
One final niggle.....On the last day the cleaners turned up early ( well before the 10am leaving time) and proceeded to wait outside the cottage until we left. This was very distracting as we were in the process of getting things ready after cleaning right through and the dog barked for the entire 20 minutes until we left. It would have been better if they had not parked directly outside in the loading bay to give us some space so that we could pack up and load our car. What's more the next guests were left wine and biscuits for their arrival and we had nothing of the sort only an empty electricity meter :)
Great little cottage in a lovely location close to lots of great places. The cottage comes well equipped with everything you could need, there is no mobile signal but the wifi is pretty good and there's also a landline should you need it. The kitchen is a good size with everything you would need. The lounge is comfortable although it's a shame that the floor is covered by a carpet rather than leaving the original tiles on view with a nice a rug.
Upstairs is a good size and comfortable and the garden is lovely and secure (we took our dog so needed somewhere safe for him).
There is space outside to park to unload but actual parking is over the bridge which is plentiful but probably not to everyone's liking.
All mod cons very comfortable. Lovely quiet little village. Pub 2 miles. Internet for the teenagers. No phone signal in cottage , however Whats app sorted that. Incoming calls on Landline. Bit strange having electric meter given price of let, however it wasn't greedy. Watch your head as a couple of low door frames that tend to get lower when you've had a drink.
