“Nice location , nice property , complex recycling the only real down point”
Reviewed 21 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Family get together end of September , Lovely property in a fantastic position . Tywyn now regaining its popularity it had in the sixties and seventies when I remember many fantastic holidays around the Cambrian coast. The only downside for the visitor is the local recycling rules regarding your rubbish , very time consuming and should be in with the price in my opinion ! I received an email from the owner on the Sunday bringing my attention to the fact that noise travels between the buildings and not to run on the stairs as there is an elderly lady next door and I need to keep her sweet ! This upset my 82 year old mother and spoilt the weekend for her. Along with the small dog yapping constantly Sunday early evening from next door . We could have been 10 rugby players booked in for a celebration weekend !!! In my opinion if "normal" family noise is not allowed I suggest the property is not fit for purpose !

Thank you for the review. I would have thought the whole of the UK is used to recycling now and this is 'self catering' hence very reasonable prices per person. Its standard practice to ask guests to deal with their rubbish. The building is a terrace (modern and sound proofed of course), but some noise will travel.

“Ideal large family beach house”
Reviewed 18 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Craig Gwyn is an ideal house for extended family or groups of friends to stay in, though as it's on 3 floors all need to be mobile. The variety of beds suits all needs (single, doubles, bunks, Z bed, sofa, pull out single, cot), and there are plenty of bathroom facilities, all of which work well and are roomy enough. The kitchen is sufficiently well equipped and the dining table large enough for big family meals, though we chose to eat out at some of the excellent restaurants in Tywyn. The Salt Marsh Kitchen and The Proper Gander for English cuisine, two extremely good Indians - particularly Dine India - and Walkers fish and chip restaurant. The balcony dining table is perfect for watching the sunset and porpoise with an after dinner bottle or two.
Our favourite activity in Tywyn...a walk along the beach to Aberdovey for breakfast at The Medina Cafe (lovely sheltered courtyard tables) or The Seabreeze restaurant ...and then walk back afterwards with an ice cream from the Aberdovey Home-Made Ice Cream Shop. A safe walk, just 50 minutes-ish each way depending on how often you stop to pick up shells or paddle. If you set off just after the tide turns you'll have plenty of time, but if you're too full to walk, there's trains and buses back to Tywyn.

Liked best: The sunny balcony in the afternoons and evenings.
Liked least: The recycling/rubbish rules are complicated and need to be grasped from the very first cup of tea!

Liked best: location and spaciousness but there were only 5 of us
Liked least: the recycling - only one box for masses of glass/plastic/newspapers: more mats for drinks etc if you want to avoid people putting glasses on furnt

“Brilliant holiday in perfect Accommodation.”
Reviewed 15 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

My family and myself stayed at this beautiful beach house in July. Our party consisted of 6 Adults and 2 children. There was ample room for everyone and plenty of seating too.
When we arrived on the spacious drive at Craig Gwyn we were all really excited. The key collection was straight forward and we were straight in. In the Entrance hall there was a large mirror and the floor was beautifully tiled, on the left of the little corridor was the garage door, in the garage was all sorts of useful items for your stay and all for your use, Large barbecue, a bike, floats for the sea, fishing nets, wine cooler, tall fridge freezer,Iron and ironing board, a sink, washer , tumble dryer, clothes airer plus other things I may have forgotten! Further along the corridor was a single room with guest bed underneath, decent sized wardrobe and mirror, this bedroom had views onto the sea. On the opposite side to the single room was the wet room. This was a great help when you come in from the beach! Good sized room with hot shower, this room did however have a slight smell not sure why. The front door was also next to the wet room which was great!

Upstairs onto a landing with double doors into the open plan living area, what a beautiful room very calming area, to the left a very well equipped kitchen including dish washer, another fridge and a 4 ring gas hob with fan oven. All pans are a good standard, There was basically everything that you need in the kitchen with a few extras! Kitchen roll, dish washer tablets, tin foil even a couple of drawers like you have at home full of random things lol. The seating area was impressive to me with a large table Leather benches either side and 2 chairs. There was also 3 stools up to the breakfast bar too. The living area had modern furnishings with 42" tv on the wall,a docking station, cd player and dvd player its a very relaxing area with 2 sets of patio doors, we only had keys to one set but it wasn't really a problem. The view on the balcony out to sea was wonderful. The sunsets were the best every night and on our first night we had front room seats to a dolphin show!! They vanished though for the rest of the week :(
Up on to the top floor is the bedroom with bunk beds and a cot, its a smallish room looking out to sea, down side is the lack of storage space, no drawers or wardrobe, although there are hooks on the wall with hangers. Onto the En suite bedroom with a Juliet balcony looking out to sea, the views are amazing, the sounds at night from the sea are so calming. The only problem again in this room is the lack of drawers/wardrobe space. The en-suite bathroom is beautiful and the shower is always hot!
The other bedroom on this floor is also lovely and does have a wardobe. This room also has patio doors over looking the mountains which have dramatic views early morning!
On the landing area there is a cupboard/wardrobe that is handy.
Also on this floor there is a large family bathroom that has a gorgeous bath!

To summarise, we had a relaxing family holiday in a perfect place, Tywyn is a great place as the road down the sea front isn't leading anywhere apart from round Tywyn, so at night time if you sit out there isn't a sound its perfect (if that's what you want) and the rabbits come out and play on the road. I would highly recommend this house to anyone , it has a calming feel to it, so relaxing.
There was a couple of tiny issues like uncomfortable pillows but really not much worth mentioning almost perfect!!
