We always use The Old Rectory when working in North Wales. It is superb value for money, clean and comfortable. Wonderful welcome from Catherine and nothing too much trouble. Lovely evening meal - recommend the roast and meringue stack. Looking forward to our next stay in October. Highly recommended.

This peaceful BnB is located in a small village near Ruthin. We stayed in the king room with two comfy chairs, and a small table with tea/coffee etc. The bathroom is large and bright with a bath, and both rooms were very clean. There is an adjoining single room to make this a family room if needed. A lovely cooked breakfast with cereal and fruit is included in the tariff, and sometimes you can take up the option of a two-course home-made dinner for a small additional cost, check prior to arrival though. Afternoon tea was provided in the garden on our arrival, a welcome way to unwind from the day. Catherine is a friendly, helpful and efficient host. Usually she provides emailed directions ahead of your stay, however if in doubt ring before you get to the village as there is no mobile service. Wifi connected easily and worked well, and there is a guest lounge with sofas. Parking is available in the grounds. All bedrooms require you to climb stairs.

The Old Rectory was quaint, roomy and peaceful. Catherine was a knowledgeable host who made you feel at ease. The freshly prepare breakfasts were a great start to the day. Was able to use the garage to store the motorbike when not in use during the stay. Thank you!

Friendly hosts in a lovely house. Excellent breakfast. Clocaenog is a small village in a very quiet location about 10 minutes south of Ruthin.
There is a good WiFi connection but mobile phone reception in the valley is not available. A landline is available.
