Small-ish but well laid out sea aquarium with lots of native species on display. Lot of activities for kids

If you are looking for big flashy tropical fish or sharks then this isn't your place. Instead, this aquarium focuses on native marine species, and does this really well. I learnt a lot about our native marine species and spent a good 90 mins here really interested in all the species on display.

The exhibits are well laid out, and the signage tells you lots about each species. We weren't with children but the kids we saw there seemed just as interested in British species as I've seen at other more exotic aquariums. The seahorse breeding programme was really great to see.

Definitely recommend a day out here to discover more about whats in the water all around the island.

It’s not a big aquarium but good enough for kids to understand. In my eyes it’s more for kids than for adults. There are school outing visits hete from time to time. So be prepared for kids noise if you may concern.

I was brought here as a surprise for my birthday.
We'd picked a leaflet as some things to do before the end of the year at university. And this was in the pile.

There was a good variance of creatures in the sea zoo. Some were hiding which is expected, they have plenty of places for the fishes to hide which is needed. The octopus was behind the rocks which was a little disappointing. The different sectors are good to go through. Little activities which although intended for young children to keep them engaged whilst walking around - like a search for animals and then a sheet of activities on paper for young children and then older children which satisfied me, theres some on the spot the difference even i cannot find, and a word on the word jumble i have no idea.

The weather was perfect to go out and play mini golf after, (additional charge, but definitely worth it!)
talks from keepers whom are ready to answer questions, staff are polite in the actual sea zoo,Less so in the gift shop, but never mind.

Thank Katie S
