This cottage is a wonderful find. It is spotless and everything is of high quality. The garden is magnificent and the views of the golf course with a backcloth of the mountains is breath taking. The shower room is small but very usable and the kitchen and main bathroom are modern and tasteful. The dogs loved the rabbits and the birds and we loved the apple trees. EVERYTHING was there, even 2 cheese graters! One of the best cottages I have found in over 30 years of rental.
mid way down the 16th fairway of Henlly's golf course, overlooking snowdon. Lots of nice dog walks in the area. If you're there to play Henlly's, it's very convenient and look s like a great course.
cosy old cottage with lots of history and a great, big garden.
boiler is knackered. no hot water for most of the week. advice was to stand on a chair and reach round for the boiler tap to top it up (this is actually written on a note on the boiler). "we would get british gas round but they charge a fortune"...
decor was probably pretty tasteless in the early 80's when it was last 'refreshed'. rickety flat pack furniture and low quality 'fill up" tat everywhere. plenty of cobwebs.
kitchen needs replacing.
ensuite is a (small) cupboard. main bathroom needs completely redoing.
local village is populated with under entertained kids (8-14 yr olds) who for want of something better to do were smashing the phone box for a bit of afternoon entertainment before walking their staffies across the course.
phone reception is weak, internet speed average, tv reception poor. even the video player (?!) gave up the ghost half way through a film the kids were watching.
wireless heating control is the only modern feature, but I suspect that is installed so the owner can monitor your heating usage rather than being a benefit for a renter.
you could view the old keyboard left in the corner as a possible additional entertainment option, but the way it was thrown in the corner made the kids room look like a jumble sale and was symptomatic of the overall level of effort.
at half the price it would have been tolerable. even the cleaner called it "his little cash cow'.
with a makeover, the old cow could be very presentable, but in this state a bit poor and not good value...
with all that said, we had a great time - just didn't spend much of it in the house...

Stayed here recently for 3 nights. Location is great and would be lovely in the summer. Walking distance into Beaumaris but very disappointed with the property given the rates. Great space, 3 bedrooms and all the trimmings but the beds were very poor quality. Master bedroom bed is ok for one as two roll together in the middle. We were like the three beArs trying out different beds each night but the mattresses were all cheap and springy. The house is good family sized but cleanliness is poor. On the surface all seems ok but Needs a great spring clean in all the nooks and crannies. Cobwebs, dust, grime on doors etc. Ensuite is tiny so didn't use it. Cooker is very slow with limited heat! Summer may be different when you live outside more but in winter you could really see that it had been used all year and was a little tired.
Recommend due to location but don't expect a good night sleep without some help.
