They often say that Indian restaurants can vary in quality and service over a period of years, based on this takeaway the Misbah is at the bottom of the curve.
This isn’t a cheap takeaway and for nearly £30 for a couple of main courses, rice, nan and poppadoms you expect a good quality. However very little of this was of satisfactory quality, The Balti tasted as though it was out of a tin, the poppadoms were stale and the nan dry and old.
Of course it might be different in the restaurant, but you can’t complain at the table when you have taken it home.

Great shame, great cost, great waste I’m afraid

My husband and I were in Monmouth just for the weekend. We do eat out for curry a couple of times a week and try different restaurants.
We were not disappointed. The chicken dupiaza was extremely good, with plenty of meat and just the right amount of sauce for my liking. The meal was served hot by attentive staff.we will definitely return on our next trip to the town.

Disappointed by this restaurant.

Young staff were totally unenthusiastic and we had to wait a few minutes before even being acknowledged on arrival.

Poppadoms and bhajis were a bit soggy and obviously not made fresh. Curries (Goan fish, and a mildly spicy sour lamb dish - name I forget) were fairly small and mostly gravy (quantity of fish and lamb was ok and reasonable quality, but needed more vegetables rather than just the gloopy sauce). Didn’t have particularly nice fresh spice flavours. It all seemed like it had been cooked and reheated.

Wouldn’t go back.
