This cosy cottage was everything we'd wished for for a New Years break. It has to be the most spotless, well equipped place we've ever stayed in. Basil was a friendly host who was there when needed but left you to your own devices. Set in lovely surroundings with easy access to get to places of interest. We would highly recommend a stay here!

“Even better than expected”
Reviewed 1 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We chose this as a place to stay for a few days before the Snowdonia Marathon, and we were very happy with the accommodation. There is everything you could need and so we had a very relaxing time. There are two bedrooms upstairs, a twin with a shower cubicle and a double, and a separate toilet. Downstairs there is good size bathroom with corner bath. The place was very warm from the central heating (not to mention the walls that were nearly 2 feet thick), and there is also a log burner, with some logs provided. The kitchen-diner has a large table and chairs, full size fridge and freezer, and a gas hob with 5 burners. Outside is a decking area with table and chairs and a large area for parking. Basil the owner was there to meet us with the keys. It is a very quiet location, near the river and about half a mile from the village. There is also a pub (Penbont) nearby that has good reviews for its food, but we didn't try it as we were too tired after the marathon to set foot out of the door!!

“Relaxing girly weekend”

Had a lovely weekend st Ship Cottage. From start to finish, dealing with Basil (the owner) was so easy. The cottage is decorated to the highest standard & is spotlessly clean. It is ideally situated for visiting other places aswell. There is pub a few minutes walk from cottage, but it doesn't serve food, except on a Sunday. The pub at the crossroads, approx 15 min walk, does however serve fantastic food & is well worth a visit, if you can bear to leave the cosiness of Ship cottage. It was a welcome sight after a day out walking! Would highly recommend a visit & will definitely visit again at some stage. Thanks Basil!
