Off the beaten track but well worth a visit. From antique furniture to tableware, jewellery to ornaments this place has a great selection on offer. The gift shop by contrast sells completely modern items at reasonable prices. If you’re looking for a gift then look no further!

Very interesting antiques but on the expensive side unfortunately. However the food in the restaurant was lovely. We went twice- firstly for a cream tea and secondly for lunch. Both were excellent and served by very friendly and efficient staff.
The Centre is set just off the main road with good parking. The restaurant is on the ground floor with seating outside but the antiques are on upper and lower floors. There is also a lovely gift/ craft shop on the ground floor.
Well worth a visit.

Dear Margib82,

Thank you for visiting us and taking the time to write a review. It is great to read how you have enjoyed the centre and have visited the restaurant twice, that is good news. We will make sure that staff are aware of your lovely comments.

Sorry to read you found the antiques priced a little high, we do try to ensure they are set at a fair price and of course we have to take into account the time it takes to source them, prepare them for sale whether that is just cleaning & polishing or perhaps some restoration to ensure that everything is as good as it possibly can be. I appreciate your comments and all feed back is listened to. On a very positive note it is wonderful that you enjoyed the gift shop and feel the centre is well worth a visit.

We hope to see you again soon.

Kind Regards

Janet, Adrian and all the team xxx

Things started badly as I pulled onto the car park and the Sat Nav wanted me to do a u turn and go elsewhere!
Decided I was at the correct place so sauntered into the Centre.
The antiques were a mixture of good, bad and indifferent. But that is a statement on the individual dealers and their cabinets. If I had made a special trip to buy antiques, as I sometimes do, I would have been disappointed. Needless to say, I bought nothing.

There is also a gift shop of equal sq footage to the antiques on sale. One of those places that sells things that no one really needs and you didn’t realise you needed?

The café was quiet mid afternoon when we arrived. We were killing time before our hotel check in so availed ourselves of tea and scone. Very nice, very pleasant, very reasonable. If it had been lunch time we could easily have satisfied our hunger. A wide choice of things to eat and a most impressive selection of cakes and gateaux. I would suggest if you are on a diet that you need to avoid seeing this display of calories! You will be tempted.

Oh, and it is waitress service which is always a bonus.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to visit us and write a review. It is lovely to read how you enjoyed your visit to our Restaurant sampling tea and scones. All the cakes are homemade and we pride our selves on using as much local produce as we can within the menu.

I am not sure from your comment on the size of the gift shop being equal to the antiques whether you made it upstairs to see the antiques. We have an extensive selection upstairs of collectables, silver and furniture to add to the collection down stairs - this will more than double the size of the down stairs selection.

On a positive note I hope you enjoyed your stay when you arrived at the hotel.

Kind Regards

Janet , Adrian and Team
