“Heavenly”
Reviewed 30 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Stayed at Strawberry Mill from 22nd September -28th September,
we arrived to the cottage (with chocolates and biscuits left by the owner) and were thrilled to find it to be so clean, warm and cosy after a long drive.
Everything was perfect, from the duck down bedding to the roll top bath :)
Set in a great location for exploring North Wales, just above Colwyn bay - only a 3 minute drive to the zoo & 5 minutes down to the restuarants etc of Colwyn bay.
Weather wasn't on our side but despite this managed to have a wonderful week exploring and were very happy to have such a beautiful little cottage to come back to each night

Management Response

Thank you so much for your invaluable review. I always aim at 5 stars for every item in the review and felt disheartened finding some four stars. I certainly will make sure everything will be back up to five stars and look forward to seeing you again. However, thank you for enjoying my welcome that included port wine and bouquet of roses. Please come back and it will be just as lovely as it could be.

“Well equipped cottage in good location”
Reviewed 9 August 2012 for a stay in July 2012

I stayed here for 1 week with my 13 year old daughter and her 3 friends (also all 13). We had a great week. The weather was not too bad. We visited Tree Tops Adventureland, The Great Orme, The Welsh Mountain Zoo and the beach. The cottage is very well equipped and a very comfortable base.

“Beautiful cottage with amazing views in a great location”
Reviewed 24 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We stopped at Strawberry Mill for a week in July on the back of a recommendation from relatives. On arrival we were greeted by Seunghee with a lovely Chocolate cake. We were unexpectedly early, but this wasn't a problem for Seunghee.
The cottage itself is located on the top of a hill which provides great views of the sea, it is set away from the main town so is very private. It has all the facilities you would require including a washing machine and dishwasher, there is also a travel cot and high chair, which came in handy. Seunghee did warn us about the cot being a bit tricky to use so we did take our own but the high chair was great. There is only the one bedroom but this was big enough to put the cot in. The roll top bath was lovely and Dhruv loved his bath times. It was important for us that our son would find the cottage comfortable and within seconds of walking into the cottage and putting him on the floor he was off exploring and he seemed at home which was great. Be careful of the stairs though as if you have a child like ours he will love going up and down them as there is no stair gate. However this wasn't an issue for us and it was nice that he felt at home here.
This was our first visit to North Wales and found the cottage to be in an ideal location, close to the Mountain Zoo, beaches, Llandudno, Conwy all of which are worth a visit. There is also Eirias Leisure centre a couple of miles away, which was great for taking our little boy swimming when it rained but you have to go after 1pm due to local schools using the pool. There is also the Pen-Y-Bryn Pub which serves good beer and food but can be a bit pricey, there are also good chinese and indian takeaways in the area who deliver. There are also supermarkets close buy.
Finally for the runners out there, i went on a short run around the area, very hilly, but some amazing views.
We would like to thank seunghee for allowing us to stay at her cottage and for her hospitality and communications before and after our stay. We will definately be back as there is still lots for us to see in the area. Thank You.

“beautiful cosy cottage with everything you need”
Reviewed 13 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

I stayed at Strawberry Mill for 4 nights with my partner and 2 year old son. The cottage was beatifully presented with pretty much everything you would need including those nice little touches such as tea bags and sugar.

The cottage consists of a large lounge area with 2 sofas and a kitchen diner downstairs, with a large bedroom and adjoining bathroom upstairs. The lounge has a lovely fire which adds to the cosyness. The bed is positioned under the roof slope, so you have to be careful of bumping your head, but it is fine for lying down. The shower was great as it is very powerful and the bath is lovely for a relaxing soak.

There is an outside area that has a trampoline and swings, which I had thought would be a bit bigger from the photos, and the grass was a little overgrown and floor uneven, but my son loved bouncing on the trampoline nontheless!

The only thing in retrospect I would have found improved our holiday would be the option to use a safety gate. The travel gate we had would not fit on the stairs, so we used alot of extra energy chasing our son up and down the stairs! Perhaps some kind of inbuilt gate system that rolls back when not in use could be an option?

Strawberry Mill is very conviniently located for the Welsh Mountain Zoo, and we also made good use of the local pub Pen Y Bryn which does gorgeous food!

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Srawberry Mill and would definately recommend it!

Thank you for coming and I am so grateful that you enjoyed your stay here. As for the stair gate, I will look for some options to fit a gate for little ones. However, I stayed with my little one there and used a travel cot against stair upstair and portable chest on the ground floor. As always, my aim is to provide deserved relaxation time to my customers. I only wish you could have asked me... I hope to see you soon again soon.
