A fantastic relaxing stay at the hobbit house it truly is an amazing house with outstanding views and complete tranquility. We didn't see anyone during our stay and the quality of the accomodation is second to none . Fantastic place will most definitely return
Me and my partner recently decided we needed a weekend away,we did a lot of research and came across the hobbit houses on treberfedd farm! Immediately I was drawn to it, looked very pleasant and in a reasonable price range and also the outstanding service from all staff even before our arrival,We were abrehensive before arriving as natural when staying somewhere new wondering if it would live up to it's great reviews an description but it was everything we wanted and more, from the moment we first arrived we were blown away by the breathtaking surroundings, the great service and the beautiful cabin! We fell in love and wanted to spend most of our time inside the cabin instead of going out for the day as it was so welcoming, cosy and just amazing! When it came to leaving it was very hard for us because we were very content here! We will definately be visiting again hopefully during the summer and Christmas season and this time for a longer time duration! It definately deserves a 5* I couldn't of asked for anything more and I would like to thank the staff at treberfedd farm once more for giving us one of the most enjoyable weekends we have ever spent together!
We took our two boys (aged 9 and 8) for the last weekend of the Easter holidays.
There are two hobbit houses on site, located at the top of a field around the corner from the farmyard and holiday cottages. They are far enough apart from one another to give you a sense of privacy, but close enough together for people holidaying together.
The Aerona hobbit house is open plan and feels very comfortable and spacious. With a large oak dining table, comfortable arm chairs by the woodburner, high ceilings, motorised skylights and an immaculate stone tiled bathroom. The place has a wow factor and everything feels well thought out, clean and recently new.
The large glass front door looks straight down the valley. Windows on four other aspects give beautiful framed views. The double bed feels luxurious. The boys slept in a bunk bed that appears to fold away in to the wall - though this was all ready to use when we arrived. Underfloor heating kept the whole place snug.
The kitchen is well designed. With a gas hob, stove top coffee pot, toaster, all the utensils you could possibly need, double oven (spotless), extractor hood and kitchen knives that are actually sharp! Quality taps and sink, all spotlessly clean. A pleasure to use. There is wifi, though we found it had a pretty patchy signal.
In the field out the front, lambs just a few days old stuck closes to their mothers, and a Pony greeted us at the gate to the next field (probably hoping for carrots, or apples). A cattle shed by the car park housed five young bullocks. There is a modern wooden playground and games barn with a table tennis table. A laminated map is included in the information pack (which by the way is quite extensive, useful, and also nicely presented). The map shows walks around the farm, including a great 'Welly Walk' that passes through (and up) the stream in Dragon's Creek.
We spent most of the Saturday in New Quay, sat on the harbour wall crabbing. We saw Daily the Dolphin in the bay. Then later on the beach we ate locally made ice cream and explored the Lifeboat facility. The cafe near the harbour served quite good espresso coffee and good cakes.
If you're looking for a refreshing break, I'd highly recommend a stay in the Aerona Hobbit House.

We booked the trip for 4 girls as a reunion and the owner was a little sceptical at first because it's designed with bunkbeds - obviously for kids. I sent her an email about how we had our heart set on going. To my surprise I got a confirmation email saying that we had been accepted to stay!
It's in the middle of nowhere but finally we made it! Warm lighting, quirky features and a log fire greet us upon arrival. Perfect.
Everything about the place was perfect. Its so much bigger than the pictures make out! And there also weren't any pictures of the bathroom which was at the same high standard as the rest of the room!
We had adults on the bunk beds (the smallest of the 4 of us) and they had no issues what so ever!
I'd definitely stay again! Butane for a little bit longer... It's quite far to drive from us.
The only thing that would make it better is a hottub! Pushing it I know but we all commented that a hottub next to the hobit house would be perfect! - just an idea!
The price was great for us because there were four of us... Might be little bit more expensive for 2 people! Just because it's in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful but there is literally nothing around.
Also, one tip, don't go out of season. We went to new quey and everything was closed! We also tried to go to breakfast at a local in but he laughed at us and told us we had to go into town!
I wish check out was later... It would have been nice to have a lazy morning and a late breakfast before making our way back up north but we felt like the day was wasted a little because we had seen everything the day before, it was raining and there was nowhere to get breakfast so we all headed home earlier than planned.
Over all, epic stay! I would definitely recommend!
I booked for four days in Aerona in January 2015 and ended up staying for two weeks ! That in itself tells the story. The hobbit house is quirky, well equipped and tastefully decorated. It is ideal for a couple who wish to have a break in quality accommodation in beautiful countryside. The underfloor heating is extremely efficient and the wood burner adds a new dimension on cold, dark winter nights. Staff could not have been more helpful. The location is ideal for exploring Ceredigion.
If you want a relaxing break in a quality location then do not look further than Treberfedd Farm and the hobbit houses !
