Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

The Sun Studio tour was short... but perfectly formed. About 45 minutes covering the history of the studio and many of it's stars including Howlin Wolf, Johnnie Cash, Elvis and many others. Our guide was the incredibly keen Tiffany, complete with impersonations, special effects and lots of enthusiasm. She made the tour special.

We initially visited Sun Studio as a "check the box" type of thing. We were pleasantly surprised - thanks to a great tour and tour guide! What an amazing history brought to life by Geoff! After Sun Studio, we took the free shuttle to Graceland. Visiting Graceland immediately after Sun Studio was a great way to connect the whole story in 1 day. The free shuttle is a nice perk too!
