Remote, surrounded by nature in the wilds of the Torridon area, this is like stepping into an Agatha Christie film. Public rooms are beautifully refurbished and classically furnished with gorgeous fabrics and the elegant main staircase and huge entrance hall are very grand and well-maintained! Only disappointment was the tatty, unloved bar and the firmly closed restaurant. Our bedroom was gorgeous; a huge, gilded, comfortable sleigh bed, large windows looking towards the mountains with a comfortable seating area and a spacious, modern bathroom. Shame about the unattractive, barrack-type bunk houses located far too close to a hotel with plenty of land.
