We had a lovely stay here for a week with our two children. The property looks quite small on the photos but it's really spacious and airy. It was lovely and clean and very well looked after. The master bedroom has ensuite with a bath and the twin room has an ensuite with a shower cubicle so it's the best of both worlds.
The kitchen has everything you need for a self catering break.
The beds are comfortable with quality bed linen.
It's lovely and quiet with stunning views but only a short drive to supermarkets and restaurants. There are loads of great family days out within an hours drive. We'd recommend Port Patrick for a quaint little harbour, Sand Head for a lovely quiet beach to explore and Mabie farm park for a fun filled active day out.
If you like wildlife then you will love it here. We had hare's playing right outside the cottage every night with loads of birds and even a fox came to visit one evening!
Would definitely recommend this place and hope to be back one day.
This was a very comfortable, well equipped cottage in a beautiful setting. This was an ideal location to explore and sample the delights of Galloway. We were very fortunate with the weather - the temperature ranged between 25 and 32 degrees every day. This cottage will be recommended to all.
Perfect cottage which had everything for a wonderful relaxing week. Very comfortable with good views. Shorts and Tshirt weather! We were staying in the area cycling and exploring and the cottage was ideally placed for this. Superb scenery with rolling hills and not too strenuous for cycle rides! The only thing I would suggest is too find out where the cafes are before heading out cycling or take a picnic.
Lynn was very welcoming and had left a lovely basket with goodies and a bottle of wine. Yummy cake too! There was also a shed for the bikes. Our 7 month Border Terrier came too and he thoroughly enjoyed scampering through the nearby field every morning.
I would recommend The Barn and will return and stay if we are in the area again.
The cottage was lovely and well equipped especially the kitchen. Their where plenty of leaflets on local sites and attractions which we found very useful.
The only negative was the lack of children's play area as advertised and shown in the photos.
Fabulous!! The photos don't do it justice. We had a lovely welcome basket when we arrived, which really was very welcome. The house was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. I was quite sad to leave our lovely bedroom. The views are stunning! I would definitely recommend The Barn at Glenturk to anyone. I would suggest taking some citronella candles if you like to leave the patio doors open in the evening.
