We had a very pleasant stay. The cottage felt comfortable and was in a lovely location. It was clean and provided all the usual amenities. Killin is very central for lots of small towns like Aberfeldy and Callander. It is central for walking in the mountains and has The Ben Lawers Nature Reserve nearby, a starting point for several Munros . There are also many local walks nearby and the cottage provides lots of information and books to help plan your holiday.. This is our 2nd visit and we would certainly come again.
This cottage offers everything you want in a home away from home. Its comfy, has a well stocked kitchen for essentials, good DVD collection and in a great location. It was lovely coming back here after a day of walking/exploring, we really felt as if we could relax as we would at home.
The location is great too, with the local pub only 2 minutes walk away (but you dont hear any noise in the evening). Everything you need is in walking distance and the path that goes past the front door leads down to the Loch (5-10 minute walk), what else could you ask for.
A perfect place to stay in Scotland. Central to so many areas of outstanding beauty and interest.
The cottage is VERY well equipped with comfy beds (a must). The double in main room has a electric blanket to add to the super comfy bed.
Underfloor heating in the bathroom which has a shower, always nice to have on the feet in the night and first thing in the morning as well as a heated towel rail.
The kitchen has ALL the equipment you need for a stay and more. I love the fact I do not have to bring my own slow cooker with me.
The Wifi is a lot more stable this year too.
If you need to just put your brain ti the side and relax this is the place to do it.
Please feel free to ask questions.
A little gem of a cottage situated right next to the beautiful Falls of Dochart in the lovely village of Killin. I visited Barn Cottage over the Easter holidays with my kids and we all loved it. The cosy cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped and we felt at home straight away. We loved the living area on the first floor which was cosy and yet light and airy.
The location was perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside- an easy drive from scenic loch Tay and kenmore and from Callander.
We had a fabulous time and will definitely be back.
