“Excellent chillout location”

Very quiet beautiful location. Owners attentive. Lovely large lounge with open fire which smells great with log fire. Dog and children friendly. Clean comfortable rooms and kitchen has all you need. Great spot to explore the coast. Nearest pub serving food in Bridgend has huge portions. Make sure you take supplies as nearest shop is only small. In conclusion a relaxing holiday.

“GORGEOUS COTTAGE IN STUNNING COUNTRYSIDE”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We just loved the newly renovated Clachandubh. It's a picturesque stone cottage next to a bubbling burn surrounded by beautiful Scottish Hills - it was a perfect family getaway. Inside the cottage is spacious and well equipped with a welcoming open fire (logs provided!) and pretty kitchen & bathrooms with showers. A drying/utility/dog room is thoughtfully provided to the side of the house which kept all our clutter away.
Lots to do for families too - the cottage is not far from the sea & we had sunny days on deserted beaches with campfire lunches. The owners are really helpful with suggestions for activities and as well as some lovely hill walks, we were able to fish in remote lochs for tiny trout (we put them back) as well as 'row and tow' for huge pike which thrash in the bottom of the boat before being released again to lots of screams from our girls! The Wilsons rent out boats & rods - and in our case one of their boys as a ghillie (too many tangles otherwise!).
Really would recommend as a proper old-fashioned family holiday.

“the clachandubh is a nice and silent cottage”
Reviewed 7 May 2012 for a stay in May 2012

We had a wonderfull stay in the clachandubh cottage. It's very silent, only sheeps.

The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The kids loved the place. We stayed there for the second time last week. There's a lot to see and to do.
