We’d had to take the Braemar route south as the A9 had blocked our journey earlier in the day.
We stopped in the village at about 4.00pm and looked for somewhere to eat opting for The Bothy - a great choice as it turned out. We had a baked spud and a cold drink. The pear and orange in the salad were a delight. Having originally set off from home in Forres at 10.30am and still not left Scotland we were in need of a ‘pick me up’ and this meal certainly did the trick. Many thanks to the pleasant staff (front of house and kitchen). Oh and the views are great too!
