Rang to see if we could take the dogs and watch the footy. Made welcome but we couldn't order food as they had a party on. Not a problem we could visit the chippy (as advised by the host). Bar small but extremely well decorated, welcoming and cosy However, we were then offered food (very kindly) and I have to say that it was absolutely wonderful, T Bone steak, rib eye and a fish and chips meal. Very reasonable and soooooo tasty. Excellent value. The hotel itself looked immaculate and the rooms really lovely. Its a bit out of the way and there are many other places to stay but I would highly recommend that you go here and swerve the bigger ones.

Enjoyed a really lovely meal in the restuarant in the Moorfield Hotel, Braemar last night to celebrate my husband's birthday - would definately recommend it for a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the service and food were excellent. Steaks were brilliant and cooked to how we asked for. We will be back.

We've just returned from a short stay at Moorfield House, which was lovely. This was our first trip to Braemar, and were so glad we chose to stay here. Excellent hospitality in a cosy environment helped make for a great short break. It was wonderful to come in after a day's walk in the snow and enjoy a drink by the wood burner in the bar. Thank you to everyone for making our stay such a great one, and we look forward to staying with you again in the very near future

Whilst visiting Braemar and staying at the Invercauld Arms Hotel, I nightly visited The Moorfield House Hotel Bar. It is a walk into the village and then up Chapel Brae. I had visited before a couple of years or so ago. It is now owned and run by Grant and Maria.

I have never stayed there so cannot comment on the facilities or food - however they do have a nice menu and the meals were well presented and obviously liked by those eating.

There is a warm, friendly bar and the clientele watch Sky Sports there. The log burning fire keeps everyone warm as toast. There are a good selection of Real Ales - my favourites was Stag. There is an extensive range of malt whiskies (more than 100 of them) to sample - a standard shot being 35ml at very reasonable prices.

Thank you to Rachel the very congenial barmaid and to Grant. Not to mention the friendly locals, Steve for one and some of the friendly dogs there such as Tilly. Well worth a trip there nightly.

We dropped in for an evening meal. Good range on menu and full of flavour, cooked to order. Very friendly environment in front of lovely log burner. We'll be back on our next visit to Braemar. Unspoilt village at the heart of awesome countryside
