I would recommend to stay here to anyone. Well equipped kitchen, good location, big and clean house and etc. - all of this pales in comparison to the hospitality of Barbara. Barbara was very helpful. Thanks a lot for our great holidays at Skye! Hope to come back some day.

“Wonderfully relaxing”

We arrived at No.5 after a beautiful but relatively lengthy journey, to be met by the warmest of welcomes by Barbara. She and Robbie have thought of everything to make a stay at No. 5 comfortable - with a treat of home made bread, milk, eggs, chocolate and a bottle of wine to help us settle in. The house is cosy and spacious, with everything you need. The kitchen is very well equipped, there is wifi throughout the house, and each bedroom has a TV. The house is in a perfect location for exploring the north end of the island. We visited the Museum of Rural Life up at Kilmuir, used the wonderful Qirang road to cross back over to Uig and a wee trip to the Brewery there, marvelled at the Dun Beag broch, had time in Portree and, of course, went to nearby Dunvegan Castle and its beautiful gardens. We ate in most of the time so don't have stories to share of local eateries but .... There is Skye's oldest bakery, a cake shop, a well stocked store, a cafe in the craft shop, The Old School House Restaurant, the Three Chimneys Restaurant and a couple of hotels. Barbara has put contact details in a folder for visitors. There is so much to recommend at visit to No. 5. We look forward to going back.

“Skye Paradise”

A first visit to Skye for the family, and every aspect ticked all the boxes, staying at our home from home in Dunvegan. 5 Castle Crescent is beautifully presented, and added to that is the warm welcome received from Barbara. The house was very well equipped, and had stunning views over the loch. The welcome parcel from Barbara was superb, and what a lovely touch to be left some whisky and 4 glasses to toast our stay. With the obvious exception of the endemic higfhland midges - just like everywhere elese in the highlands in the summer - everything was perfect, and we had a truly superb stay.

Beyond just Tripadvisor and the positive comments herein, I always check the visitors book, and once again every single visitor had been suitably effusive in their comments. We will happily return to Skye, and especially 5 Castle Crescent.

“Feel at home in Dunvegan, on Skye Island”

The house is very well located in the village of Dunvegan, which is a good place to explore Skye Island. Dunvegan castle is only 1 or 2 miles down the road, from which you will be able to observe seals.
The house is extremely well equipped. Customers benefit from the very warm welcome from Barbara, which includes a basket full of local products, home made bread, etc.
In conclusion, certainly the best accomodation in Dunvegan, which is a very good point in case of rain (that may happen...).
