If you only visit one historical site in Lewis then this should be the one. It is beautiful. Very well maintained.
A lovely area, fascinating wee museum and a real pleasure to walk amongst these houses and appreciate the details
of the buildings and the way of life there.
It is also extremely picturesque. Highly recommend a visit. Would I go again…yes.

Fantastic walk around the headland to reach this lovely village. We parked near the blue pig studio and did the walk to the village (about 9km) great village to visit. Museum was interesting and tea room for a coffee and cake at the end is a must. Definitely worth seeing the village from the shore rather than just driving down

This was an amazing experience and a highlight of our trip. We stayed in a two bedroom blackhouse and loved the place. Unfortunately, both my travel companion and myself have severe allergies/hayfever and spent the time feeling those allergies. It might not be the best place for those with severe hayfever.
