“Gingerbread House Heaven in the Highlands”
Reviewed 6 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

West Lodge is the perfect retreat for the family or group of close friends. We spent our days on the lower and top deck with the fire pit lit whilst enjoying good food, drink and company. It's also perfect for active people who enjoy walking, hiking, spotting red deer and kayaking in the various surrounding lochs. The lodge itself is beautiful, full of character with thoughtful touches from the hosts, like chocolates, special soaps, DVDs and games. The lodge also has a great wifi connection if you need to email or post envious photos of your stay to friends and family. I will definitely be back.

“Superb little place”
Reviewed 5 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Booked with a group of friends after we read the recommendations on here. We were not disappointed. Lovely little place in a stunning location. Great facilities (wifi etc) and lovely little features (wood-burning stove, two wooden deckings). Make sure that you follow the (very helpful) directions because it is a long way along a single track road, but we were looking for a remote, peaceful location to spend with good friends. This was ideal.
Make sure you take your camera too, as there is an abundance of wildlife in the area (hundreds of deer, birds of prey, and when we were there we also saw pine martins every day! (2nd rarest mammal in the UK).
Couldn't recommend this highly enough. Thank you to the lovely owners, Helen and John.

“Scotland's finest”
Reviewed 3 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Wanting to experience real Scotland ? West Lodge is perfect. An amazing lodge a short drive from Inverness. We used the lodge as a base to kayak on Loch Ness. The finishing touch and home comforts were first class. The grounds offer you a chance to sit and watch the nature of Scotland. The raised decking with the log burner soon made you relax and enjoy the outdoors. Thank you John and Helen we shall be back

“Wonderful location, beautiful home - dont miss it!”
Reviewed 30 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Recently returned from a 5 night stay at West Lodge (wish it had been longer!)
The house is beautifully appointed, extremely well equipped and has everything you need for a relaxing get away - even down to the Umbrellas!
John was a gem and easy to deal with, answered all of our questions and it was so good to actually be able to meet up with him during our stay.
Thank you so much for everything - we will be back!

“Peaceful and well equipped cottage in ideal highlands location”
Reviewed 6 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We were looking for a quiet, well equipped cottage to serve a base for a week long stay in the Highlands and West Lodge did not dissappoint. It met and exceeded our expectations with the thoughtful decorating touches, comfortable beds and a full suite of entertainment options including wi-fi (which our teenager was very appreciative of). Whilst the weather was as expected for this time of the year the recommended walks were still excellent and the central heating and fire took the care of the cold. The cottage proved to be a perfect base for some longer day trips to the west coast and the Black Isle. It was also handy to Inverness and some nearby smaller villages for shopping and eating out. All in all our stay at West Lodge was one of the more memorable parts of our 4 week trip and a welcome respite between 2 very busy stages of the trip. We could of easily stayed an extra week.

Congratulations John & Helen on providing a comfortable and welcoming cottage that made us feel at home.
